In 2019, Sweden will be the third European city to host the iconic Lollapalooza festival. Originating in Chicago, the event has since expanded globally, with events hosted in Argentina, Chile and Brazil; as well as European editions in Berlin and Paris. Known for its diverse international lineup and innovative selection of food, drink, art and entertainment, the iconic event will make its Scandinavian debut in the heart of Stockholm, Sweden.

Lollapalooza Sweden has announced that an additional day will be added to the event this year, along with 34 new artists. The third day will be dedicated exclusively to the hottest names in hip hop, including Grammy award-winning artist Chance The Rapper. Other new additions include Lykke Li, Young Thug and Mø. The three-day event also features popular headlining acts including Travis Scott, Lana Del Rey and the Foo Fighters; who will be making their Scandinavian debut at Lollapalooza Sweden 2019. Electronic music fans can look forward to the likes of Eric Prydz, Alan Walker and Kungs; while rock enthusiasts can anticipate Bring Me The Horizon and Wolfmother.
Lollapalooza Sweden will take place at the stunning park Gärdet in Stockholm.
Stockholm features a frequent and convenient ‘SL’ public transport system, making it easy to travel around the city and surrounding areas. The nearest airport is Stockholm Arlanda Airport, located approximately 30 minutes north of the city centre. Visitors can travel to and from the city via the Arlanda Express train. The single trip takes only 18 minutes and single tickets are available for 295 SEK (around $31). Reduced fares are also available for unaccompanied youth aged 8-25 for 165 SEK (around $18).
Stockholm’s public transport system features a range of buses, light rail and trams and metro and trains. Visitors can purchase a reloadable or single-use SL travel card, which can be used on all modes of transport. You can also purchase tickets online through the SL app.
The event is held at the popular Gärdet Park, located just outside the city centre. The venue can be reached on foot as well as via public transport. Bus routes 1 and 91 travel directly to Storskärsgatan; while the nearest train station ‘Karlaplan’ is located just a short walk from the festival grounds.

Other nearby hotels include Forenom Aparthotel Stockholm Alvik, Elite Hotel Carolina Tower, Elite Palace Hotel and First Hotel Kungsbron; all of which are less than 30 minutes away by public transport.
The Swedish capital offers a range of attractions throughout the city centre. One of the most popular parts of Stockholm is the island of Gamla Stan. The city’s old town is home to a range of colourful 17thand 18thcentury buildings amongst its cobbled streets. Here, you can find popular historical attractions such as The Royal Palace, the Nobel Museum, the gothic Storkyrkan church and the picturesque Stortorget square, featuring the iconic red and yellow buildings.
If you head east towards the famous Djurgården Island, you can find a number of popular museums such as the ABBA museum and the Vasa Museum; as well as a number of parks and landscaped gardens. This part of the city is also home to the Gröna Lund amusement park. Visitors can also hire kayaks and pedal boats here, and explore the river passing through the city.

Lana Del Rey – Day one will be headlined by none other than American singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey. Rising to fame in 2012 with her first major album ‘Born to Die’, her music has since topped the Billboard charts; and millions of copies have been sold worldwide. Her stylized cinematic quality sounds will be a show to remember.
Bring Me The Horizon –English rock band Bring Me The Horizon will be returning to Sweden on day two; as part of their worldwide ‘Amo’ tour. After reaching global success in recent years with their popular metalcore and alternative sounds, their latest album sees the group dive deeper into the pop-punk and rock world.
Chance The Rapper – Chicago son Chance The Rapper will headline the final day of action. The Grammy award-winning rapper, singer and songwriter is known for his chart-topping tracks and collaborations. Working with the likes of Lil Wayne, Kanye West and even Justin Bieber, this artist will definitely close out the three-day event with a track list of bangers.
Lollapalooza Sweden will take place from June 28-30, 2019.
