OFFSonar 2019: Barcelona OFF Music Week

OFF party Barcelona is joining forces with Sonar Festival and their new brand OFFSónar to represent a range of musical events at Poble Espanyol, Spain. The event brings together labels and artists at the cutting edge of dance music for one of the biggest party weeks in Europe. 

“Bringing together labels and artists at the cutting edge of dance music for Europe’s biggest party week, OFFSónar presents nine parties over four days in the idyllic venues of Poble Espanyol” 

This summer, OFFSónar will present nine parties over four days throughout a range of venues. Events include Circoloco, WooMooN, Drumcode, Detroit Love x Rush Hour, Innervisions, Exhale by Amelie Lens, an official OFFSónar Closing Party and more. The lineup features the likes of Amelie Lens, Adam Bayer, Carl Craig, Carl Cox, Karala Dust, Rampue and more. 

Where to view OFFSonar

OFFSonar takes place at a range of venues throughout Poble Espanyol, Barcelona. Poble Espanyol is an open-air architectural museum located on Montjuïc mountain overlooking the city Av Barcelona. You can find the event at Av. Francesc Ferrer I Guàrdia, 13, 08038 Barcelona, Spain. Other venues include Carpa & Picnic, Monasterio and Plaza Mayor. 

How to get around Barcelona

The nearest major airport is Barcelona-El Prat Airport, located approximately 20 minutes southwest of the city centre. You can travel between the airport and the city centre via the REFNE train, which runs every 30 minutes. You can also find taxis readily available throughout the airport and a one way trip to the city costs around 30 euros.

The city of Barcelona features an extensive network of buses and trams as well as the metro/subway. The easiest way to get around is via the metro, with fares starting at 2.20 euros. You can also purchase a Hola BCN travel card which offers unlimited rides for 2,3,4 or 5 days. You can also purchase the  Barcelona Card, which features free travel on public transport, as well as free or reduced admission to a number of attractions and museums. To travel to and from the event,  you can take bus routes H16 or 55 or metro line 1, followed by a short walk.

Barcelona offers a wide range of accommodation options. You can find a number of nearby hotels and Airbnbs located within the vicinity of the main events. Nearby hotels include BCN Montjuïc, Ayre Hotel Gran Vía and Crowne Plaza Barcelona – Fira Centre; located within a 10-minute walk of Poble Espanyol.

Things to do in Barcelona

The city of Barcelona offers countless things to see and do. One of the most iconic landmarks in the city is La Sagrada Familia, the world-renowned unfinished Gaudi-designed church. Another popular attraction is Park Guell, Barcelona’s world-famous park featuring mosaic-covered buildings, steps, sculptures, museums and more. The city also features a range of stunning lookout points.

One of the most popular lookout points is the Bunkers del Carmel, a scenic viewpoint with 360-degree views over the city. The mountaintop lookout point of Mount Tibidabo also offers panoramic views over the city, as well as a church and amusement park.

OFFSonar will take place from July 18-21, 2019.
