Transmission Australia will take place at Sydney Showground (1 Showground Rd, Sydney Olympic Park NSW 2127).
Upon arrival in Sydney, many quick and affordable methods of transport including trains and buses are readily available. Travelling to the CBD is quick, easy and affordable from both the Domestic and International airport.
‘Opal Cards’ are available at most convenience stores with a minimum top of balance of $10. These cards can be used to travel on all forms of public transport in Sydney. Countless bus routes and train lines can get you around Sydney for only a couple of dollars. Although walking is recommended throughout the CBD, dockless bikes can also be picked up and rented throughout the city.
The nearest train station to Sydney Showground is Olympic Park Station, which is directly next to the venue. Travelling to the event by train is the quickest and easiest way to get around. Many parking options are also available in Olympic Park at a flat rate of $25 per day during special events. Local buses also operate around the Olympic Park area but do not travel directly to the venue.
Located 30 minutes from Sydney’s CBD, Sydney Olympic Park has a number of accommodation options available for festival goers. Novotel, Ibis and Pullman hotels are located adjacent to the venue. Nearby apartments are also available to rent and Airbnb’s are available in and around the Olympic Park area.
If you are visiting the city, many options ranging from backpacker hostels to luxury hotels are available throughout the Sydney CBD. Countless hotels and hostels surround the Central train station, making it easy to travel around Sydney due to the close proximity of public transport.
There are countless things to see and do in the city of Sydney. If you are staying in the Olympic Park area, the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre and Urban Jungle Adventure Park are great places to spend the day. Sydney’s favourite fashion outlet centre ‘DFO’ is only a short bus ride away and the perfect place to grab some great deals. Bicentennial Park and Cathy Freeman park are also perfect places for a relaxing afternoon with friends.
If you are staying in the CBD, the options are endless. World famous attractions include the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera house and Bondi Beach. Popular day trips from the Circular Quay ferry terminal include Luna Park, Manly Beach and Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Darling Harbour and the world class Star Casino are also popular locations to explore and dine as well as party.
