Your experience at the Grand To Grand Ultra

By self-supported, this means that all competitors are responsible for carrying all of their supplies and equipment, including food, for the duration of the week-long race. And when you’ve got an intense 170-mile race that takes you on a journey among some of the world’s most iconic natural formations found in Utah; through the high desert punctuated by sand dunes, the incredible red rock canyons, mesas, buttes, and more, you can be sure that this race is as much adventure as it is a physical feat.

This life-changing experience will cultivate new friendships as you support other runners; the absence of digital distractions will ensure you are empowered and succeed at the Grand to Grand Ultra. Participants may join either the individual or team category.

Runners rest at the spacious and cozy tents, each of which can fit up to 8 competitors. Clean toilets, potable water, hot and cold showers, and medical facilities will be available. After a tough day on the course, unwind by the bonfire or inside your tents, put your feet up, and marvel at the beauty of America’s most remote areas.

The Grand to Grand Ultra will start on the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, and will end at the summit of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Kanab, Utah. Spectators can cheer on the runners at the half-way point, as the competitors pass through the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
