Dream Village Festival 2019: The Story of the 7 Districts

Make your dreams come true at Dream Village. The annual three-day music festival takes place just outside Breda in the heart of the Netherlands. Visitors can wander through the ‘village of your dreams’; featuring beautiful neighbourhoods and the downtown filled with a range of activities, shops and more. Showcasing more than 100 local and international artists across three days, Dream Village is the perfect way to end your summer!

Welcoming more than 100 artists across 9 different areas of dance music, Dream Village offers a diverse lineup with something for everyone. This year, Dream Village will celebrate its 10 anniversary, bringing a wide range of talent for the milestone event. The first wave of artists features the likes of Act of Rage, Maan, La Fuente, Paul Elstak, The Partysquad, Warface and more. The second wave of artists welcomes DJ Jantje, Snelle, Dr. Rude, Freddy Moreira, Lady Dammage, Regain and more. More artists are still to be announced.

How to get around Breda

Located in the south of the Netherlands, the nearest airport is Eindhoven airport; which is around 45 minutes east of Breda. The nearest major airport is Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, located just over an hour north of Breda. The easiest way to get to Breda is via intercity train, which connects most major cities around the Netherlands. When getting around Breda, the easiest way is by bus or on foot.

The festival is easily accessible by car as well as public transport. If you are driving to the festival, you can follow the yellow signs marked ‘Parken Dream Village Bezoekers’. There is plenty of parking available on site. You can also travel to the festival via public transport. You can take the train to Breda Centraal Station, where festival shuttles will operate throughout the weekend; transporting visitors to and from the festival grounds. 

Where to stay for Dream Village Festival

Visitors can camp at the official Dream Resort, which offers a range of camping options. You can bring your own tent and camping supplies, or reserve a pre-setup tent package. For basic tent options, you can reserve a Kartent, which is available for up to two or four people. The Kartent is a 100% recyclable cardboard tent, which is waterproof, weather resistant and eco-friendly. For a more luxurious option, you can reserve a Festipi, a 3-metre tall tipi, equipped with camping gear and available for up to two people. You can also reserve the Dream Lodge Deluxe, for up to two or four people; including power and lighting. 

There are also a wide variety of accommodation options available throughout Breda. It is recommended to stay in the city centre for easy access to public transport. Popular nearby hotels include Apollo Hotel Breda City Centre and B&B San De Singelgracht; located just a short walk from the shuttle stop. Things to do in Breda

The city of Breda offers a wide variety of things to see and do. One of the main attractions is Our Dear Mother Church, a large gothic style Catholica church dating back to the 14th-century. Nearby, you can also find Breda Castle, a historic castle featuring guided tours, underground passages, towers and courtyards; and Kasteel Bouvigne, a 16th-century historic state home.

The city also offers a number of museums and exhibits, including the Stedelijk Museum, the Reptile House Earth and the Toy and Carnival Museum. Breda is also just a short train ride from many nearby cities such as Tilburg, Eindhoven and Dordrecht; which make for the perfect day trip.
