Bridge Day 2024 is West Virginia’s Most Sensational Festival

Each year on the third Saturday of October, West Virginia’s New River Gorge Bridge becomes a hot spot for jaw-dropping acts. BASE jumpers perform thrilling feats by jumping from the bridge to the New River Gorge as thousands of spectators cheer them on. Pulsating energy fills the air as several rappelling teams ascend and descend from a fixed rope.

Bridge Day 2024 Schedule

Bridge Day weekend kicks off with food and music. Check out the Taste of Bridge Day festival the day before. This foodie event showcases the area’s best restaurants and caterers, who will be offering samples of their delicious specialties.

Bridge Jam delights audiences with a world-class lineup of musicians paired with local breweries – it takes place on the same weekend. Whether you choose to perform daredevil stunts or sit back and enjoy them, there will be something for everyone.

Where to watch Bridge Day

The event takes place at the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, West Virginia. The New River Gorge Bridge is the world’s 3​rd​ longest single-arch bridge and the longest of its kind in the Western Hemisphere.

Situated 876 feet above the beautiful New River, this landmark bridge is renowned for being the site of Bridge Day, West Virginia’s biggest one-day festival, and one of North America’s top 100 festivals!

Spectators will be allowed to walk the bridge and get the best views in the house as BASE jumpers fly into the gorge below and rappellers descend and ascend from the catwalk.

How to get around Fayetteville

The most efficient way to get to the bridge is to take advantage of the shuttles. Just park your car and pay $3 for the shuttle, which will take you to the entrance of Bridge Day.

Shuttles will be available at the Fayette Landing Shopping Center, Fayetteville Walmart, Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville Courthouse, Smales Branch Road, and Midland Trail High School.
