Greenfield Festival 2024: Switzerland’s Annual Open-Air Rock Festival

Greenfield Festival is Switzerland’s annual open-air rock festival held in the picturesque town of Interlaken. The three-day event annually welcomes over 30,000 visitors and features more than 40 local and international bands ranging from rock, punk and alternative scenes. In 2024, Greenland Festival will celebrate a massive 17th edition with a stacked lineup, new experiences and more.

Korn, Volbeat and Billy Talent Bad Religion, Kill Switch Engage, The Offspring, Powerwolf headlined Greenfield 2022.

Greenfield Festival takes place at Flugplatz, Interlaken. You can find the event at 3800 Matten bei Interlaken, Switzerland.

How to get around Interlaken

The nearest major airport is Bern Airport, located approximately 45 minutes from Interlaken. Visitors can travel to Interlaken via train from most major surrounding cities throughout Switzerland, as well as Paris, Berlin, Milan and Salzburg. Many travel companies also offer direct bus transfers to and from Interlaken.

There are a number of ways to get around the city of Interlaken. The Swiss Metro system is the quickest and easiest way to get around. This is also the most affordable and reliable. Local buses are also available and ‘visitors travel cards’ are often available for hotel guests and allow free access on buses and trains throughout Interlaken. Car rental options can be found throughout Interlaken and taxi services are also readily available.

Visitors can purchase a travel combo with SBB RailAway for a 20% discount on the train ticket to Interlaken and 5% discount on the festival ticket. Free shuttle buses will be available throughout the festival to transfer visitors between the festival and Interlaken rail station.

Where to stay in Interlaken

Camping is available next to the festival site for all multiple day ticket holders. A separate campsite for trailers and campers is also available. This year, Greenfield Festival will also make Kartents available. The popular pre-setup cardboard tent is 100% recyclable, water resistant and keeps the light and heat out.

Visitors can also travel to the festival via the Moonliner; however, regular rates apply. The campgrounds are fully equipped with sanitary facilities as well as a medieval market and freak market.

Hotels are also available throughout the city of Interlaken. It is recommended to stay near Interlaken rail station for quick and easy transit options to and from the event.

The traditional resort town of Interlaken is known for its picturesque landscape and adventure sports. There are a number of parks and mountaintops such as Harderkulm and Höhematte that offer Scenic Mountain and lake views.
