People from all around the world gather in the popular vineyard village of Binissalem in Mallorca, Spain to attend this super exciting event of grapes and wine.
Binnisalem village is known for its amazing wines. Back in the Roman times grape harvest used to celebrate this festival to get rid of the grapes that are gone bad. The village people used to gather in one place and had fun throwing grapes at their friends, family and loved ones for a laugh.
The event kicks off in the village square by the firing of a rocket. Once the rocket is fired, you have to run and get your hands full with as many grapes as you can hold. And then, the grape war continues until every single participant is covered in grape juice and bits of the sweet fleshy fruit. And of course, you have to make sure not a single grape is left on the ground to throw.

Not only the days but the nights are also filled with fun, when they throw a huge party in the night time with traditional dance and folk songs and wear interesting costumes. Also, a huge firework takes place with brilliant fire dance performances. It is not a wrong to say that Grape Throwing festival is a roller coaster of fun and excitement.
The Festival takes place in the wine-growing village of Binssalem, Mallorca.
