B My Lake 2019: The Mecca of Electronic Music

B My Lake Festival is an annual music festival that rounds off the summer with a bang. Taking place at Lake Balaton in Zamardi, Hungary, the festival also shares a home with another popular Hungarian festival: Balaton Sound. Since it’s debut in 2013, B My Lake has grown to become Hungary’s most popular festivals and the number one summer destination for electronic music lovers. 

“This year, B my Lake opens its gates on 21 August and brings you the biggest and most influential acts in contemporary techno, tech-house, minimal and house music” 

The festival showcases the best of contemporary techno, tech-house, minimal and more; supported by a variety of unique visual and sound elements. This year’s edition will welcome a huge lineup, with more than 40 artists making up the first phase lineup alone. Day one will feature Charlotte De Witte, Dax J, I Hate Models, Paula Temple, Boston 168, Sikztah, Shabaam and many more. Day two will welcome popular acts including Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens, Pan-Pot and many more. Sven Vath, Sasha, Chris Liebing and Sam Paganini will headline day three; and Tale Of Us, Rødhåd and Recondite will close out day four.

How to get around Zamardi

The nearest major airport is Liszt Ferenc Airport in Budapest. You can travel from the airport to downtown Budapest by the airport bus, which takes around 30 minutes. From there, you can take the train to Zamardi. You can also take international buses, which arrive at Nepliget Coach Terminal. From there, you can find local buses which travel in the direction of Zamardi. You can also drive to and from the event, with secure free parking available just a 20-minute walk from the festival entrance. 

Where to stay for B My Lake

B My Lake offers beachfront camping with fully equipped campground facilities. Camping tickets can be purchased for 22 euros per person and gives you access to the campground for four days. You must also have a valid festival pass, VIP pass or day ticket to access the campground. There is also a dedicated area at the beachfront camping site for Caravans. You can purchase a caravan camping pass for 85 euros which includes 4-day access for 4 people (in addition to valid festival tickets).

Things to do in Zamardi

There are a number of things to see and do in Zamardi. On the north shore of the lake, you can find Tihany; the oldest medieval town in the region. One of the main attractions is Tihanyi Bences Apatsag, a medieval monastery offering panoramic sea views.

Throughout the entire area of Lake Balaton, you can also find more than 1000 natural water springs that are known for their sacred and medicinal powers. Other popular attractions include the Zamardi Adventure Park and the Kohegyi Kilato landmark.
