Radical Reels Australia Tour Dates

Faster, steeper, higher, deeper – the Banff Mountain Film Festival’s RADICAL REELS Tour is coming back to Australia!

Catch the steepest and deepest in high-adrenaline outdoor sport films when the 2016 Radical Reels Tour comes to Australia this November. Hurtle down steep rocky paths, push the boundaries of human stamina and climbing exposure, paddle huge drops and massive white water, ski pristine backcountry steeps and fly into unchartered territory over the Canadian Rockies at the 2016 Radical Reels Tour.

Growing from the largest and most prestigious mountain film festival, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, Radical Reels screens the most dynamic action sports films, audience-tested and programmed for maximum excitement.

To be selected for the Radical Reels tour films need to have the adrenaline level turned up to the max. The 2016 Radical Reels Australian tour features 8 films and has something for every kind of adrenaline junkie. Via Ferrata on a Mountain Bike will have you ride a precarious path on steep alpine terrain while Balloonskiing pioneers the radical new hybrid sport allowing eco-friendly access to pristine virgin powder. A band of elite kayakers will push things to the limit in the thrilling Chasing Niagara as they chase big dreams and even bigger drops.

Lovers of heights are in for a treat when Canadian duo, Will Gadd and Gavin McClurg, test the boundaries of paragliding distance travel in the film Rocky Mountain Traverse. While the free climbing attempt of the Nose’ famous Golden Gate route by the tenacious Emily Harrington will have you feeling the exposure. Photographers in the crowd will be treated to a behind the lens look at adventure photography in the film The Mysteries featuring celebrated Australian adventure photographer Krystle Wright as she chases her dream of an illusive shot.

Grab your tickets and hang on to your seats as we present the world’s best action films on skiing, paragliding, climbing, biking, paddling and more – all brought to life on the big screen.

Oli Russell-Cowan

The concept for Rad Season came about when I was trekking around Latin America. I found it difficult to find cool events and festivals going on that were a bit different and had an element of adventure and general radness to them. I knew that there was always something rad worth going to somewhere in the world, but there was no single platform bringing them together for like-minded people. With over 15 years experience in international business development, spanning multiple industries including action sports, events, media, digital, ICT, travel and tourism, I decided to combine them all with Rad Season.
