Rhythm and Vines 2019: An Epic New Years’ Eve Celebration In New Zealand

If you need a reason to spend New Years’ Eve in Middle Earth, look no further than Rhythm and Vines 2019.

Founded back in 2003 by three good friends, the event was originally conceptualized as a way to welcome in the new year in a stunning location while being serenaded by New Zealand musicians. An attendance of 1,800 quickly grew to over 15,000 a few years later, and a one-day event was no longer enough. Today, attendees can marvel at the sheer beauty of the country while listening to performances from renowned local and international acts throughout a three-day New Years’ Eve music festival. Past performers include Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Naked and Famous, Tame Impala, Public Enemy, Franz Ferdinand, Flume, Salmonella Dub, and Mylo.

‘Rhythm and Vines is the only music festival in the world that ushers in the first dawn of the new year.’

In fact, Gisborne is the only place in the world you can literally see the sunrise ahead of everyone else. If that isn’t enough, the award-winning festival will be showcasing over 100 house, deep house, and drum and bass acts plus various activities, comedic shows, and art installations to enjoy. Immerse yourself in the great outdoors of Middle Earth by camping with other festival goers; there will be complete amenities for your convenience so just bring yourself and your camping gear and get ready to welcome the new year.

Eat, drink, and be merry with dozens of awesome food vendors plus camp and garden bars offering alcoholic drinks at affordable prices. And of course, there will be the usual New Years’ Eve festivities including insane fireworks and waterslides, but the main event will still be watching the first sunrise of the year from the spectacular Waiohika Estate vineyard.

Book those tickets and tick Rhythm and Vines off that bucket list – stat!
