The Noosa festival is known as the leading surf culture event in the world, also referred to as ‘8 Days of Pure Stoke’, with fun, thrills and entertainment for surfers and spectators alike. Regular events at the Noosa festival include specialist noseriding, teams events, a waterman challenge, and even surfing dogs. Yes, even our furry friends are hanging paw and surfing Noosa breaks with style.

Surfing at Noosa offers the perfect waves of Noosa’s famed First Point and events included at Noosa – live music, free movies, food and drink at the Noosa festival village right on the sand in front of the break, make this one of the world’s best surfing events.
Competition is fierce in the water, but on the sand, the Noosa surfing festival is all about bringing people together and the fun of finding kindred spirits in surf cultures from all over the world.

The Noosa festival grounds are open from dawn each day, on Noosa Main Beach, and has a market atmosphere with chill tents, a bar overlooking the event and local businesses showing their support.
Once the sun sets expect awesome live music and entertainment into the night at various venues around Noosa Heads.

Most things in Noosa are within walking distance. There is a good bus network (the bus stop is just opposite Halse Lodge) if you’re staying a little further out of Noosa, some accommodations also provide their own shuttle services. Failing that, there is a taxi rank just off the Hastings Street roundabout.
Driving to Noosa? Make sure your accommodation has its own parking, there is limited metered parking in and around Noosa but you’ll be hard pushed to find a parking space if you’re not an early bird! Take public transport where possible.

Noosa is a small town and accommodation books up fast! The two main hostels are Halse Lodge (YHA) and Nomads, starting from $20AUD per night. Rooms in motels and hotels start from around $100AUD per night. For more convenience check out Boutique Apartments and The Lookout Resort.

1. Take one of the Coastal Walks starting from Noosa Heads. You might even spot some Koalas in the wild!
2. Kayak the Noosa Everglades – No Alligators to worry about in this one! Cruise through the wetlands and mirrored lakes.
3. Visit Eumundi Markets – one of the best Artisan markets in Australia. Open on Saturdays and Wednesdays about 20kms from Noosa Heads with a public bus service.
