Fresh Mountain Festival 2019: An Urban Party in the Alps

Fresh Mountain is the new alpine take on the already much-loved Fresh Island Festival. Previously hosted on Zrce beach on the island of Pag in Croatia, Fresh is a hip-hop festival that is now taking to the slopes.

Join thousands of other festival ski bunnies as they party in the snow to some of the world’s hottest hip hop artists. Fresh Mountain runs from the 9^th to the 16^th March 2019 with a whole week of pre-parties, main events and, of course, an obligatory after party! Combine your love of snow and music in a festival never to forget.

Les Orres Mountain Resort in the Hautes-Alpes region in France has to be one of the most stunning settings for any music festival. Take in the gorgeous alpine vistas as you party to some urban anthems and undiscovered artists.

Whether you love hip hop, grime, garage or rap, Fresh Mountain has you covered. 2019 will be the first Fresh Mountain event but if the team can bring the party like they do on Pag it will certainly be an event to remember.

Where to view Fresh Mountain Festival

Fresh Mountain is set to be held in the mountain resort of Les Orres. Les Orres is a mountain town situated in the Hautes-Alpes department of south eastern France and is a much-loved winter sports destination. There will be a number of music venues (yet to be announced) but if you are staying in the heart of Les Orres you won’t miss out on the action!

How to get around Les Orres

Skis, of course! Les Orres is an awesome ski and snowboarding location so you’ll be able to spend most of your days on the slopes before enjoying the music of the festival.

Unfortunately, getting to and from the region will have to be done by plane, bus or train (as skis just won’t suffice!). Fly to Marseille and then catch a direct bus to Les Orres or make connections to Nice, Grenoble or Turin airports. Alternatively, take the TGV (high-speed rail network) to Aix-en-Provence where you can link up with trains to Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Nice, Lille, Geneva and a number of other locations.

Les Orres has a number of accommodation options from cheap and cheerful hostels and dorm rooms to more upmarket hotels. Chalets are also available which can be a great choice for groups of friends travelling together.

Things to do in Les Orres

Thanks to the amazing week-long schedule of Fresh Mountain you’ll really be able to make a holiday out of the festival. Start your trip with some pre-parties to get you warmed up (despite the cool mountain air) before the party really kicks off with the main event running from the 12-15^th March. The 16^th March will host the mother of all après ski events with the Fresh Mountain after party; an amazing way to finish off your trip!

The rest of your week will be spent enjoying the winter sports on offer (and, of course, devouring some alpine favourites such as raclette and fondue!). Whether you ski, snowboard or toboggan your way down the mountain, make sure you spend time taking in the magnificent views!
