The Experience Festival: A Sensational New Years Party In Koh Tao 

The Experience Festival has been around for a decade now, and has been considered as the ultimate way to ring in the new year in the Gulf of Thailand. Curated trance DJ’s and artists from all around the world will fly in to keep your feet busy dancing and your ears entertained. Where to view The Experience Festival

The Experience Festival takes place at the Magic Garden, located halfway between Mae Haad pier and Chalok Ban Kao. Tickets are available for the entire event; no day passes won’t be available.

The event schedule is as follows:
December 30: festival kick-off at 12 noon onwards
December 31: New Year’s Eve celebrations
January 1: welcome the new year
January 2: closing celebrations, doors close at 4PM

How to get around Koh Tao

To get to the event venue from your hotel, it’s as easy as hiring a taxi driver unless you’re billeted in accommodations that are within walking distance.

Koh Tao is a relatively small island, and getting around on foot is fairly easy. The distance between most beaches and towns are just 5 kilometers on average, but if you need to visit more remote places, you can hire a taxi service. The longtail boats serve as a water taxi service, and can be found on Koh Tao’s beaches; these are a great way to explore the outlying islands. Motorbike and bicycle rental are available too.

Where to stay in Koh Tao

Koh Tao has a wide range of accommodation options including beachfront bungalows and luxurious villas. However, keep in mind that the event will be on super-peak season, so it’s in your best interest to book those hotel rooms as early as you can.

Things to do in Koh Tao

Koh Tao is famous worldwide for its incredible diving. This is a great place to take up scuba diving, or at least snorkeling. Take a day trip to Koh Nang Yuan for some of the most unique views in the Gulf of Thailand; you’ll get to see a place that is one of the most widely photographed and used in postcards – for good reason.

Sweat out the booze by taking a hike from Mae Haad to Chalok. The trail is free from traffic and is accessible for all level. Visit the famous John Suwan Viewpoint, one of the most picturesque sights on the island. Head to Freedom Beach for sunset; the laid-back bohemian vibes and inexpensive booze are perfect for welcoming the night in Koh Tao. For nightlife, it doesn’t get any better than Sairee Beach!
