E-Wax Festival 2019: A Haven of Snow and Greenery

E-Wax Festival is a brand new concept, taking place in the heart of the Valmorel ski resort in Savoie, France. The resort will be transformed into a giant dance floor for three days and nights, to celebrate the end of winter 2019. Several styles of music will be represented across five stages, including a dedicated harder styles stage. The resort offers a range of high-altitude scenes including slopes of the Grand Domaine. Free toboggan rides and border cross trails are also available for those starting out in the snow. Offering a haven of snow and greenery alongside a world-class musical celebration, the brand new festival offers a unique musical experience like no other.

The first edition of E-Wax Festival will welcome a wide range of popular artists. Everything from bass house to future house, tech house and trap can be found on the absolutely stacked lineup. Illenium, KSHMR and Oliver Heldens will headline the main stage; alongside the likes of Brohug, Cesqeaux, Habstrakt, Valentino Khan and more. The harder styles will also be represented at this brand new event with their very own Hard Stage.

Headlining the hard stage will be Brennan Heart, Da Tweekaz, Korsakoff, Radical Redemption and Wildstylez, Atmozfears, Audiotricz, Code Black and Sub Zero Project are amongst over 30 hard dance names.

How to get around Savoie

Savoie is located in the eastern region of France, just two hours from Lyon. The nearest airports are Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport and Genève Airport; both located just two hours away from the resort. Direct flights regularly operate from most major cities in Europe to Geneva and Lyon.

A number of bus services will operate throughout the event, offering direct departures from Chambéry, Dijon and Paris.

Where to stay for E-Wax Festival

E-Wax Festival offers a number of accommodation options for visitors, located within the vicinity of the festival. A range of apartment options are located on site, which means travellers can ski right up to their door! Standard and Standard+ apartments can be found all over the resort. The fully furnished accommodation features single, double bunk and sofa beds, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. Similar apartments can also be found at the nearby Doucy Ski Resort. Complimentary shuttles are included with accommodation and will transport visitors between the two resorts throughout the duration of the festival.

Premium apartments can be found between the main and hard stage and offer a luxurious vacation rental in the heart of the resort. The high-end residencies include free access to the indoor pool, Jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms and gym. Finally, the ‘VIP Room’ offers a unique mountain experience in the middle of the slopes; including complimentary meals and beverages.

Things to do in Savoie

E-Wax Festival features a number of international headlining acts from a variety of genres. Here are three artists you should definitely add to your schedule.

Illenium –American musician, DJ and producer Illenium has grown to become one of electronic music’s fastest rising stars. Most known for his popular remix of ‘Don’t Let Me Down’, the Denver based artist combines elements of future bass, trap and dubstep to create his signature melodic sound.  E-Wax will be one of his rare international performances and should definitely not be missed.

KSHMR – Kashmiri-Indian inspired DJ KSHMR knows how to put on a show. The current world number 18 DJ draws inspiration from his roots to bring his rich culture into the modern electronic world. His distinct sound and mind-blowing live performances have graced the biggest stages in the world.

Brennan Heart – Dutch DJ Brennan Heart is one of many popular names headlining the hard stage. After recently releasing a brand new album, Mr ‘I Am Hardstyle’ himself will be sure to fill the Alps with plenty of new music, as well as everyone’s favourite sing-a-long classics.
