Awakenings Festival: An Unforgettable Rave to Escape the Ordinary

The Awakenings Festival, Netherland’s biggest two-day Techno music festival, is the beaming highlight of the Dutch music world with an attendance of nearly 90,000 people each year.

Since 1997, the Awakenings Festival has been the platform to showcase the latest and greatest international techno music talent. Anyone aged 18 and up can grab a ticket to the techno tour of the year and rave like never before.

The techno gala has also introduced many new-comer artists from this music genre to the world of techno lovers. It is not wrong to say that this festival has earned a reputation of one of the biggest techno music celebrations all across the globe.

The Awakenings Festival is held in Spaarnwoude, located between Amsterdam and Harleem. It is said that no other musical festival in the world features this many Techno DJ’s performing at the same place.

Around 90 acts are being performed on eight different stages, featuring a phenomenal lineup with many of the world’s biggest names in techno sound creation.

Where to view Awakenings Festival?

The event takes place in the west of Amsterdam, Recreatiegebied Spaarnwoude and it is just located between Amsterdam and Haarlem. It takes maximum 14 minutes to travel from Haarlem to Spaarnwoude.

How to Get Around Haarlem?

If you are planning to attend Awakenings Festival, We would recommend you to stay in Haarlem. As it only takes 14 minutes to travel to festival.

It is always recommended to travel by foot to explore a city in better way or riding a bike if you don’t like walking. You can easily rent a regular city bike from the bike stand in every corner. As they city Centre of Haarlem is small so better get a city map and explore the beautiful side of the city.

There are two train stations in Haarlem. Haarlem central and Haarlem spaarnwoude. The closet to city centre is central station. They run very frequently and very reasonable in fares.

However, you can commute through local bus as well.

In Haarlem car is not much needed. Like we mentioned above that city centre is small and in some areas you can’t go by car. They are closed for motorized traffic.
