The biggest urban music beach festival in Europe Afro Nation is headed to Africa this December. Taking place on Ghana’s stunning Laboma Beach, the four-day event brings together some of the most exciting names in afrobeats, hip hop, r&b and more. Taking advantage of the breathtaking Atlantic coastline and white sand, Afro Nation will return to its spiritual homeland.

This year’s edition will welcome a number of popular headliners, as well as local and up and coming talent. First wave headliners include Alkaline, Burna Boy, Davido, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Wizkid and more. Other popular acts include Kuami Eugene, La Meme Gang, Naira Marley, Teni and more. Three more waves of artists are still to be announced.
Afro Nation Ghana will take place at Laboma Beach in Accra, Ghana.
The nearest major airport is Kotoka International Airport, located approximately 20 minutes from Laboma Beach. Direct and non-direct flights are available from most major cities in the UK, US, Europe and Africa. The quickest and easiest way to get around Accra is by car. Taxis and Uber are readily available and most fares range from $1-5. Public transport is minimal throughout the city and the easiest way to get around is on foot. Old minivans called Trotros are the equivalent to public buses and fares start at around 20-50c to get around the city. Regular buses are also available but generally only travel between major cities.
The city of Accra offers countless accommodation options throughout the city centre and surrounding areas of the event. The nearest hotels include Labadi Beach Hotel, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Asa Royal Hotel and His Majesty’s Hotel; all located within a 20-30 minute walk from the festival.
