Famous for 300 days of sun a year and its famous white sand and glistening sea, Portimao Portugal is hosting a brand new music festival in 2019. Afro Nation Festival is a brand new event offering a stacked lineup filled with local and international talent across four days. The Portuguese coast will play home to the world of Afrobeats, hip hop, R&B, dancehall and bashment. Accompanying the main festival programme, a number of exclusive boat and pool parties will also be available for visitors.

The very first edition of Afro Nation festival welcomes a range of talent. The headliners include a trio of Nigerian stars; Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy. Other popular acts include Stefflon Don, Ms Dynamite, IAMDDB, MIST and more.
Afro Nation Festival takes place at Praia da Rocha, two miles south of the city of Portimao. You can find the festival on the towns main beach at Praia da Rocha, Portimao, 8500 Portimao.
Portimao is located approximately an hour west of Faro Airport, which serves most European airlines and can be reached from all major UK airports. Private transfers, bus transfers and taxis are available to transport visitors directly to and from the festival site.
Upon arrival, Portimao offers a number of transport options. The city features a network of local bus routes and fares start at 1.50 euros for a single journey and 3.50 euros for a one day ticket. Travelling by car is not recommended for visitors due to the complex street system and many one-way roads; however, taxis are readily available. All taxis are metered and can be identified by their beige or black and green exteriors. They can be found at Taxi ranks located in all tourist areas and fares are approximately 5 euros from one point of the city to another.

Burna Boy – Fellow Nigerian musician Burna Boy will also headline the brand new event on the Portuguese coast.
