Southside Festival 2024: Southern Germany’s Festival Sensation!

Southside Festival is an annual three-day festival held in Southern Germany. Established in 1999, the festival is the Southern counterpart to Hurricane Festival in Northern Germany, which takes place on the same weekend. Each June, the two festivals collectively welcome more than 130,000 visitors from all over the world. Over the last decade, the festival has regularly hosted a range of internationally recognised artists, as well as a number of local talent and newcomers.

Southside Festival 2024 Lineup

More than 75 artists will showcase their talent at this year’s edition of Southside Festival. Headlining acts have included Kings of Leon, The Killers, Rise Against, Martin Garrix, Twenty One Pilots, Bring Me The Horizon.

Where to view Southside Festival

Southside Festival takes place at take-off GewerbePark in Neuhausen ob Eck, just outside Tuttlingen. You can find the event at take-off GewerbePark, 78579 Neuhausen ob Eck, Germany. 

How to get around Tuttlingen

The easiest way to get to the event is via train. Festival tickets include the option of a one-time arrival and departure ticket with local trains throughout Baden-Württemberg. Special trains are available between Munich, Augsburg and Donaueschingen and Tuttlingen. Upon arrival in Tuttlingen, shuttle buses are available to transfer visitors between the city centre and the festival grounds.

Visitors driving to the event are recommended to avoid the area around Tuttlingen due to heavy traffic. You can find driving directions from the north, Black Forest, northeast and various parts of Switzerland. Parking is also available at the festival grounds.

Where to stay in Tuttlingen

Camping is available at the festival for visitors with the Combi-Ticket. The campgrounds offer a number of accommodation options for visitors, ranging from pre-pitched tents to caravan and RV spots in the Southside Resort. The Southside resort is located across the street from the festival and provides guests with comfort, space, amenities and more. Visitors can choose from a number of ‘resorts’ based on their camping preference.

The Resort Keiler-Koje offers pre-setup tents available in bronze, silver gold and gold for four packages. Tents are available for up to four people with camping chairs and tickets are included in the package. The fully equipped Resort Ruf Der Eule is also available if you are bringing your own camping gear. A separate campsite is also available for caravans and campers. Visitors must display a camper sticker, which can be purchased for 50 euros in addition to a festival ticket.

There are also a number of hotel and Airbnb options located near the venue. The nearest hotel is Aircraft Hotel & Events, located a 30-minute walk or 4-minute drive from the festival. It is recommended to stay in Tuttlingen, as shuttle buses are available in the city to travel to and from the festival. Popular hotels include Hotel Stadt Tuttlingen MSC GmbH, Hotel Rössle and Hotel Restaurant Ritter. 

Guest houses and apartments are also available throughout the city.

Things to do in Tuttlingen

The town of Tuttlingen offers a number of things to see and do throughout the city and neighbouring towns. Burg Honberg is one of the town’s most famous ruins, featuring a historic castle, scenic views and more. Ruine Luginsfeld is another historical landmark, which features a number of mountain biking trails.

Located in the heart of the town, you can find Das Tuttlinger Haus, a museum showcasing the history of the town. Just outside the town, Witthoh is a popular mountain in Germany, which offers scenic hikes in the summer, and ski facilities in the winter.
