Slam Dunk Festival 2024: The UK’s biggest independent Rock Festival

The UK’s biggest independent Rock Festival returns to Southern England in May. Since originating in 2006, Slam Dunk Festival has grown to become one of the key dates in the summer festival calendar. A rite of passage for lovers of punk rock music alone, the multi-stage festival features thousands of like-minded visitors and is home to some of the biggest acts in the world.

Slam Dunk 2024 Lineup

Previous years the The Punk in Drublic stage headliners included NOFX, Bad Religion, Less Than Jake, Lagwagon, Millencolin and more.

The Monster Energy Stage had All Time Low, as well as Simple Plan, New Found Glory and Neckdeep. The Jagermeister Stage had Bullet For My Valentine Glassjaw, Hello Goodbye and more.

Where is Slam Dunk Festival

Slam Dunk will take place at Hatfield Park in Hatfield, England. You can find the festival at AL9 5NQ Hatfield, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. The festival also takes place a day prior in the North (Temple Newsam Park, Leeds). 

How to get around Hatfield

There are a range of options for visitors travelling to and from the festival. The festival is easily accessible by car and is located directly off the A414. Parking is available on the festival site and passes should be purchased in advance. Dedicated pick up and drop off points are available throughout the festival grounds. 

Visitors travelling via public transport can arrive by both train or bus. The festival is located at Hatfield Park which is directly opposite Hatfield Train Station; a 24-minute train ride from London. A number of bus stops are also located nearby with regular regional bus services operating throughout the area. Shuttle bus services will also run continuously to the official afterparty locations from 10pm-2am.

Where to stay in Hatfield

The nearest hotel is ‘Lawn House’, a transformed Jacobean mansion located approximately 12 minutes from the venue. A range of Airbnb’s and hotel options are also available in and around the surrounding towns.

Due to it’s close proximity to the city centre of London, visitors can also stay in London and travel to and from the event by national rail. You can explore nearby options on the map below.

Things to do in Hatfield

The small town of Hatfield offers a number of attractions for visitors. The historical landmark of Hatfield House and Hatfield Park Farm offers a grand Jacobean mansion and gardens for visitors to explore. St Etheldreda’s Church is a 13th-century Anglican parish located nearby as well.

Outdoor lovers can explore The River Lea, a river that flows through the Southeast of London and features a range of parks and wildlife as well as fishing opportunities. Stanborough Park also offers a 126-acre riverside area with two lakes, walking and running trails, a water sports centre and more.

This year’s edition of Slam Dunk Festival will take place:

North – Saturday, 25th May, 2024 in Hatfield Park 
South – Bank Holiday Sunday, 26th May, 2024 in Temple Newsam Park, Leeds
