It is organized by Street Child, an international charity organization that supports some of the most vulnerable children with providing them education.
The marathon is a fantastic five-day adventure that would give you the opportunity to challenge yourself and experience Sierra Leone’s culture while doing something good. The marathon is one part of the trip and takes part on day 4.
Of course, nobody needs to run the full 42km – 21km, 10km and 5km are perfectly fine as well.
You will run on bumpy unpaved roads, along villages, through the jungle… Moreover, you will be warmly welcomed by Sierra Leoneans everywhere you go.
Since one element of this extraordinary trip is supporting local projects, we are asking the participants to do a fundraising campaign before they come to Sierra Leone. This could be online fundraising, selling cakes or any other creative idea you have!
