How to get around Chicago

Certain areas of Douglas Park will be sectioned off for the festival. Everything you need at the event will be within walking distance.

For checking out the rest of Chicago, public transit is the way to go. It’s cheap and efficient, with adequate stops to get to virtually any part of the city. Buses, cycling, taxis, and trains are also a great way of seeing the city.

However, keep in mind that driving around in downtown Chicago isn’t recommended. Otherwise, you’ll have to deal with a lot of heavy traffic. Downtown Chicago is extremely walkable, with lots of stunning architecture and clean sidewalks.

Check out the Chicago Pedway System, a well-connected underground and ground-level pedestrian system that connects most of the city’s popular areas.

Where to stay in Chicago

Chicago’s West Side offers an extensive range of accommodation options. There are motels, budget hotels, mid-range and high-end hotels that are all within close proximity to Douglas Park.

If you’re worried about your belongings while enjoying the Riot Fest, worry not: just avail of a locker rental, which you can purchase ahead of time. VIP, Deluxe, and Ultimate VIP lockers are also available.

Things to Do in Chicago

The list of fun things to do and see in Chicago is endless. Amazing museums, mouthwatering food, delicious craft beer, beautiful beaches, and so much more can be found in this large, diverse city.

Laugh out loud at The Second City, a famous theater dedicated to improvised comedy and sketch. Marvel at the massive ancient artifacts and dinosaur bones at the Field Museum.

Appreciate the Museum of Contemporary Art, which houses one of the biggest collections of contemporary art in the entire country.

Get high up at the Willis Tower Skydeck, which towers 1,353 feet high with mindblowing views of the city. If you’re brave enough, take a selfie at the Skydeck’s Lounge, a glass box on the side of the Willis Tower that is guaranteed to have your heart racing.

Go to one of the many jazz lounges, and of course, have some of the city’s legendary deep-dish pizzas.
