Nova Batida ‘A New Beat’ In Lisbon

This summer, Lisbon, Portugal will play host to the 2019 edition of Nova Batida. 2018 had an incredible line-up with the massive addition of alternative synthpop masters Little Dragon at the top of the bill as well as a range of exciting activities on offer. The rest of the line-up had revered names of the electronic music scene including Mount Kimbie, Maribou State, George Fitzgerald and Gilles Peterson, Afrobeat legend Seun Kuti will also be joining the bill accompanied by Fela Kuti’s original Egypt 80, as well as Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf. Nova Batida is all set to be one of 2019’s most unmissable events.

Taking place in two of the most exciting locations in this beautiful city, the LX Factory and Village Underground near the old Lisbon docks.  A sprawling converted factory with courtyards, out buildings, even avenues and warehouses has been turned into LX Factory, one of the most significant creative hubs in Europe with roof terraces, bars, fashion outlets and much more.

Fly 

The festival sight only being 10 minutes away from Lisbon airport, Nova Batida is easy to get to from all over Europe with flights available from a range of airlines.

Road Trip 

This year, the festival will be hosting the Nova Batida road trip! Whether you’re coming from London, Paris, Munich or somewhere else, travel with us through the many wine regions in the south of France and the Rioja region of northern Spain before finally arriving at the festival with some parties to be announced on the way.

Getting around Lisbon

An efficient public transport network with trains, trams and busses as well as recently having Uber launch in the city makes getting around Lisbon a breeze.

Surf 

Nova Batida has teamed up with some of the best surf teachers in Lisbon and will be offering both half day and full day surfing classes throughout the festival. With the powerful breaks of the Portuguese beaches just a stone’s throw away this is an ideal opportunity for you to enjoy a surf and body boarding experience.
