Harking back to the community’s heritage, Lumberjack Days is a celebration of Stillwater, Minnesota and its pine pioneers, the lumberjacks. A weekend of family fun, Lumberjack Days sees community breakfasts, kids’ entertainment, beer gardens, evening concerts and pickleball competitions (a paddle game combining tennis/badminton/table tennis). They event feature a major Medallion Hunt, a local scavenger hunt that continues throughout the weekend with festivalgoers scouring the town in search of the Lumberjack Days Medallion in return for a monetary prize.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Lumberjack festival if there were no demonstrations and checked shirts! Learn about the community’s history in log cutting, running and rolling that has been bringing crowds back year after year since 1934. Guests can even take part in a Lumberjack Camp to try their hand at some of the classic lumberjack skills.
Lumberjack Days includes some classic American events such as a Downhill Derby, a baseball exhibition, a lumberjack parade and a pancake breakfast and ice cream social. It also features some interesting alternatives for the more discerning festvialgoer such as Yoga in the Park, helicopter rides, a farmers’ market and a chef’s competition.
While the music isn’t the mainstay of the festival, each evening of the festival features 4-5 headline acts from Minneapolis and beyond.
