Love Trails Festival 2024: The World’s First Running & Music Festival

Love Trails Festival is a running, music, wellbeing and adventure festival that takes place in the Gower Peninsular of South Wales in the UK. By day, you can get involved in the beer mile relay, the legendary pub crawl, a range of guided trail running adventures, wild swims and more. By night, you can settle by the Campfire Stage and take in a range of inspirational talks from adventure athletes, explorers, leaders and more. This year’s edition promises to be the biggest and best edition yet; guaranteed to replenish your soul and s spirit in the most magical setting.

Love Trails Festival will welcome a number of live music acts and performances, in addition to secret pop-up parties and late night revelry; alongside a range of trail running adventures.

Previous acts include the Hackney Colliery Band, Prince Fatty, Charlie Dark, Afriquoi, Melody Kane and The Correspondents ustin Reid Simms, Cave Paintings, Departed, Antony Charles have headlined the festival. 

Where to view Love Trails Festival

Love Trails Festival takes place at Weobley Castle in Swansea, Wales. You can find the event at Weobley Castle, West Castle Farm, Llanrhidian, Swansea SA3 1HB. 

How to get around Swansea

The nearest major airport is Cardiff Airport; located just over an hour southeast of Swansea. You can take the bus from the airport to the Cardiff city center, followed by a train directly to Swansea. The city of Swansea features an extensive public transport system.

The main way to get around the city is by bus, with regular buses operating throughout the entire city and surrounding areas. Swansea also features a central bus station, where regional coach services such as National Express and Megabus also pass through. Taxis are also readily available throughout the city and can be hailed from the street. 

The festival grounds are located just a short drive from Swansea. Parking is available onsite but tickets must be pre-purchased in advance. Free bicycle parking is also available on site. If you are traveling by public transport, the easiest way to get to and from the event is by bus.

Love Trails has teamed up with Big Green Coach to offer return coach services from both London and Cardiff. You can also travel by train to Swansea Station, followed by a direct coach from the station on Thursday or Friday and back on Sunday or Monday. You can also take a taxi, which costs approximately 15 pounds each way.

Where to stay for Love Trails Festival

Camping is included with your festival ticket and grants visitors access to the centrally located Love Trails campsite. You can bring your own tent and camping supplies or purchase a pre-setup glamping package.

The campsite is also open to campers and caravans with the purchase of a camper van ticket.

There are also a number of hotels located nearby. The nearest hotels are Swallows Nest and Fairy Hill, located just a short drive from the venue. Alternatively Bryngower House and Willow Mews offer self-contained apartments.

Things to do in Swansea

The coastal city of Swansea features a range of things to see and do. One of the city’s most popular attractions is Swansea Bay, a picturesque beachfront bay featuring a lagoon, outdoor recreational activities, a promenade and more. Nearby, you can also find the National Waterfront Museum; a free museum showcasing interactive technology and the history of innovation in Wales.

Throughout the city centre, you can also find other popular attractions such as the Swansea Museum, Mission Gallery and the Swansea Castle. Along the coast, you can find a range of popular outdoor parks, gardens and recreational areas. In the neighbourhood of Brynmill, you can find Singleton Park; a large scenic park with a botanical garden, mini golf course, boating lake and more. Further along the coast, you can also find Clyne Gardens; a parkland known for its renowned plant collection and rare species. 

Head to the Gower peninsula for surfing. One of the closest surf beaches to the city is Langland Bay. Further down the Gower is Llangennith one of the most consistent spots in the area.

Just outside Swansea is The Mumbles, an awesome little town, famous for the ‘Mumbles Mile’ where you can visit pub after pub along the mile.

Things to do at Love Trails Festival

Throughout the festival, your ticket grants you access to a wide range of activities; including guided running trails, talks, workshops, wellbeing activities and more. With your ticket, you can participate in one of many guided trail runs, ranging from 4km to 44km.

There are also “Just Show Up” runs and workouts; including the Beer Mile Relay, Love Track, Love Trails Marked Course, Sunset Bootcamp and more. You can also book a number of extra activities at an additional cost; such as the run to coasteering, run to hot tubs, run to long table banquet, run to surfing and more. 

Also included in your ticket is a wide variety of talks from the likes of Charlie Dark, Dirty Vegan, Ross Edgley, Nick Butter and more. Many of the speakers will also be hosting workshops; including the Dirty Vegan Cookery Demo, How To Run The Perfect Pace, Strength Training For Runners, Nutrition For Balancing Hormones and more.

Finally, you can also take advantage of mediation, yoga for runners, hot tubs, the Estuary Spa, sauna, plunge pool, reggae yoga, sunrise yoga and much more.
