It’s The Ship: Asia’s Largest Festival At Sea

Asia’s largest festival at sea has just announced their very first expansion to China. The five-day, four night cruise will set sail on a roundtrip from Shanghai to the Japanese island of Shimonoseki. In partnership with China’s leading integrated entertainment company, Chinese Music World will bring the ship into a brand new territory. Featuring talented local and international artists of all genres, the very first edition of It’s The Ship China is set to provide a show of epic proportions.

Since its first voyage in 2014, It’s The Ship boasts an impressive international community of over 100,000 shipmates from over 87 countries. Crowned ‘Asia’s largest festival at sea’, the legendary 5th edition announced an expansion to both China and Japan in 2019. The recent edition of It’s The Ship Singapore last November saw some of the biggest names on board including Showtek, Cosmic Gate, Paul Van Dyk and Vini Vici.

The very first edition of It’s The Ship China will welcome an impressive lineup of local and international talent. The festival will be headlined by Blasterjaxx, Kill The Noise, Ookay, Sander Van Doorn, Vicetone and Wildstylez. Other popular artists including Cesqeaux, Justin Oh, Lny Tnz and Mike Cervello also make up the first phase announcement, with more names still to come. 

Where to view It’s The Ship China

The five-day, four night music festival will take place at sea on board the MSC Splendida cruise ship. The eco cruise ship boasts a 5-star experience with luxurious comforts, designer themed dining options and a multitude of facilities. 

How to get around Shanghai

It’s The Ship China will make it’s way from Shanghai, China to Shimonoseki, Japan and back. Shipmates will depart from Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Port on June 13, 2019. You can locate the port at No.1 Baoyang Road, Baoshan District, Shanghai, China. 

Check in commences from 11:00 to 15:00 hrs (BST) and shipmates are to be on board no later than 15:00 hrs. Early check in is recommended to avoid any complications .

It’s The Ship China 2019 will disembark in Shimonoseki upon arrival. Registration forms must be filled out in advance to ensure shipmates can obtain a Japanese landing permit. It is important to ensure that all travel details and cruise documents are completed accurately and Visa requirements are met before arrival in China. 

Where to stay on It’s The Ship China 2019

The all inclusive experience offers a range of 5-star cabin options from interior rooms to royal balcony suites. Cabins are available in twin, triple and quad share rooms. The ship features a total of 1637 cabins and will host over 4000 shipmates. All cabin prices are inclusive of complementary 24-hour dining, selected non-alcoholic beverages and use the majority of the ship’s facilities. 

Things to Do on It’s The Ship

With the entire festival at your doorstep, there’s an endless list of things to do on board It’s The Ship. The MSC Splendida boasts an endless assortment of activities including a theatre, 4D cinema, sports bar, bowling and many more. Keep a look out for the official It’s The Ship side activities and get in quick to be able to meet and hang out with your favourite artists! Previous activities include bowling with Showtek, mini golf with Cosmic Gate and rock climbing with Darude! 

A wide range of international dining options are available on board. All meals in the Bora Bora Buffet and Pago Pago Buffet are included in your fare. Additional dining options including the Dim Sum Tea House and Sea Pavillion can be enjoyed at an extra cost. 

Shopping is also possible on board the ship with a retail space boasting a range of luxury brands and designer products. Everything from the highest quality fashion to jewellery, cosmetics and spirits can be purchased on board. 

If you are in need of a recharge, there are many services available at the beauty and wellness spas. A range of on board activities such as the 270° sea-view gym, aqua park and sports bar can also be enjoyed at no additional cost.
