Electric Zoo 2019: New York’s Premiere Electronic Music Festival

Electric Zoo is New York’s premiere electronic music festival. The three-day event takes place each year during Labor Day weekend and annually showcases more than 100 of the biggest and best electronic DJ’s and musicians. Established in 2009, the now internationally renowned festival is one of the largest and most popular events in New York.

“It is said that change is not only a natural part of life but the only way to reveal true beauty. Thus, we’ve taken such inspiration and tied it into this year’s theme, Electric Zoo: Evolved”

This year’s edition features over 100 artists across the three-day event. The festival will be headlined by the likes of Above & Beyond, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz, Excision, Seven Lions, Zedd and more.

A number of stage hosts will also showcase All My Friends, Brownies & Lemonade, Nghtmre & Slander Present: Gud Vibrations, Seven Lions Presents Ophelia and Pryda Arena.

 How to get around New York

New York has a number of major international airports. The John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is the largest and most frequented airport. The LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is also an increasingly popular airport. Both airports are located on Long Island and are approximately 10 miles from Manhattan. New York’s public transport system offers a range of efficient and affordable methods of travel. The New York City subway system is one of the longest and comprehensive in the world. Offering 24-hour service across 34 different lines, the metro is easily the best way to travel around New York. Trains and buses are also available throughout the city; as well as an endless amount of taxis and rideshare options.

Getting to and from Randall’s Island is quick and easy. The ferry is the most popular way to travel to and from Electric Zoo. Ferry passes can be purchased through the festival and offer return transportation along the East Side of Manhattan. The festival also works closely with New York’s public transport system to ensure visitors can travel to and from the festival easily and affordably. You can take subway lines 4, 5 or 6 to 125thstreet for a round trip fare of $6.50; followed by the X80 Express bus or a short walk across the RFK Bridge. If you are travelling from Brooklyn, the brand new direct shuttle route between Brooklyn and Randall’s Island is the easiest way to get around. Bike parking is available south of the RFK Bridge pedestrian walkway; however, car parking is not available on Randall’s Island.

Seven Lions – American DJ and producer Seven Lions is one of few artists who will also be hosting their own stage. Combining elements of trance, melodic dubstep, drum and bass, electro house and more, this artist has grown to become a crowd favourite in the US and worldwide. His brand new record label ‘Ophelia’ will host their very own stage in 2019.

Nghtmre & Slander – American DJ Nghtmreand duo Slandr have teamed up once again to present Gud Vibrations. Hosting a stage under the same name, the group have brought their ‘gud vibes’ to some of the biggest stages in the world and will return to New York this as one of the hottest summer acts.

Above & Beyond – English trio Above & Beyond are an Electric Zoo favourite. The trance group are known for their euphoric melodies and creating common ground in electronic dance music. Their unique ability to connect an entire crowd is something you won’t want to miss.
