Insomniac’s largest music festival is returning to Orlando and expanding to three days in 2019! Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) has grown to become one of the most anticipated electronic music festivals in the world. Having expanded to globally to Mexico, Japan, Korea and more, the popular event returns to the heart of Florida for three days of fun and festivities. Combining the world’s most renowned dance music talent with a world-class production, EDC is an unparalleled world of sight and sound.

The festival annually welcomes a wide range of artists from across the electronic music spectrum. Previous editions have seen the likes of Alesso, Martin Garrix, Kaskade and Tiesto headline the unmistakable main stage ‘Kinetic Field’. Other popular acts have included Dillon Francis, Illenium, Vini Vici, Ganja White Night and Kayzo. With the festival expanding to three-days for the first time in Orlando, the lineup will only continue to get bigger and better.

How to get around Orlando

The nearest airport is Orlando International Airport, located approximately 15 minutes from the city centre, and 20 minutes from International Drive. Upon arrival, a number of transportation options are available. A range of complimentary hotel shuttles can be found on the B-Side of the Terminal on the ground level. Local buses can be found on the A-Side of the Terminal on the ground level, and travel to various parts of the city. Lynx bus routes 11 and 51 travel to Downtown Orlando, with a travel time of approximately 40 minutes. Route 42 travels to International Drive, taking approximately 60 minutes; and Route 111 travels to Florida Mall and SeaWorld, taking approximately 45 minutes. The fare for each destination is $2.

When travelling around Orlando, the Lynx Bus service is the quickest, easiest and most affordable way to get around. SunRail is also a popular way to travel around, providing Central Florida with a convenient commuter rail service from Monday through Friday. Taxis and ridesharing options are also readily available throughout the city, and dockless bike sharing has also grown to become a popular option.

Insomniac has partnered with Bus.com to provide express shuttle services between participating hotels and Tinker Field throughout the duration of the festival. Parking is available on site starting at $30 per day (cash only), as well as in Downtown Orlando parking garages. Complimentary shuttle services will transfer visitors between Downtown Orlando and Tinker Field.

The city of Orlando offers countless accommodation options ranging from hostels to all-inclusive resorts. One of the most popular accommodation options during EDC Orlando is the Avanti Palms Resort & Convention Center.

Other popular resorts located along International Drive include the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, Waldorf Astoria Orlando, Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress and Rosen Shingle Creek. Insomniac has also partnered with a number of hotels throughout Downtown Orlando and International Drive; with official festival shuttle stops available. Things to do in Orlando

The central city of Orlando is home to a wide range of attractions, including over a dozen theme parks. Popular theme parks include Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, Magical Kingdom Park and SeaWorld Orlando.

The city centre also features a number of popular attractions such as Lake Eola Park and the Orlando Science Center. You can also find a number of popular shopping malls and districts throughout Orlando, such as The Mall at Millenia, Orlando International Premium Outlets and the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets.
