Baltimore Running Festival 2024 isn’t just for the marathon, but for everyone!

Since 1991, the Corrigan Sports Enterprise group made it a priority to bring a serious running festival to the Baltimore city center. This festival has races of a marathon, half-marathon, and 5K lengths for most runners, but it doesn’t stop there!

The races can be combined with each other to create the “Baltimoron” title (a medaled race combo that includes a 5K race and a half-marathon on the same race day), as well as the King Crab combination of completion in three major running festivals in the region. For those who are very young or old, or who want to participate but have limitations, the festival offers a 0.5K race for all.

Where to watch the Baltimore Running Festival

The courses are along major roads in the center of Baltimore and are highly organized for the casual walking public to be a spectator. It’s a great way to view the race, and because the route ends at the Inner Harbor of Baltimore the options for food and coffee are multiple.

The race ends at the Celebration Village in the Inner Harbor, where spectators can rejoin their runners and congratulate them on their achievement. This is also the nerve center for the race officials and the place to catch a selfie with a professional runner (if you’re lucky!).

How to get around Baltimore

Baltimore offers light rail and bus services, as well as extensive parking near the Camden Yards or Hamburg Street stops. Runners can save money on parking if they park farther away and use public transport to get to the race start. Keep in mind that busses will be disrupted by the race route, so you need to check the Baltimore Running Festival website for the most up-to-date information.

Lyft partners with the festival as well, to help runners get around for less. With registration comes a special promo that will help you to get around with Lyft for less.

Where to stay in Baltimore

Airbnb is a great way to get a place to stay in Baltimore. It’s a great idea to get together with other runners and rent a whole place if you are from out of town. Head to the event map below.

We recommend the budget-friendly and close to the inner harbor. The Hyatt Regency is a good option.

Things to do in Baltimore

The festival opens up opportunities to entertain yourself right from the start in Baltimore, with more than seven bands playing at the running festival.

Beyond the race, there is also the beautiful National Aquarium and simply walking around the Inner Harbor to keep you happy. If you want to go a little farther away, the Fells Point neighborhood is full of seafood and pubs for you to explore (maybe after the race!).
