Art With Me 2019: Tulum’s Arts & Ecoculture Festival

Art With Me is Tulum’s very first Art’s and Ecoculture festival. Presented by TANE in 2018, the four day, five night event is returning to the waterfront town of Tulum, Mexico. The four-day event is a boutique community driven festival that uses art as a platform to inspire change and personal growth; aiming to elevate the mind, body and planet. Over 100 art exhibits, large scale installations, interactive art experiences and more make up the unique event.

The 2019 theme is “Change Starts With Me” – focusing improving ourselves to help build a sustainable future for all to enjoy. The first phase line-up has been announced and features a number of impressive international artists and musical acts. The festival will showcase a diverse range of exhibits from various local and international artists; such as Mexican surrealist artist and designer Pedro Friedberg. Everyone from large-scale installation artists to street artists, painters, sculptors and more will be showcased at Art With Me. 

The musical program features a diverse group of performers including acclaimed vocalist, filmmaker and humanitarian Michael Franti. Live performances from Jan Blomqvist, Monolink, RicoLoop and KMLN are among the many talented musical acts on the line-up.

Art With Me Festival takes place in the Mexican city of Tulum. The event is held throughout the entire town, including the beaches and jungles of Tulum. 

How to get around Tulum

Located in the heart of Quintana Roo, Mexico, there are many ways to get to the city of Tulum. The nearest major airport is Cancun International Airport, located just under two hours north of Tulum; however, many smaller airports are located around the area. A number of bus services and private transfers are available from surrounding major cities such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen.

Upon arrival in Tulum, the easiest way to get around is by Taxi. Walking or renting bikes is recommended when exploring the town. During the event, shuttles will also be running daily between the various Art With Me Locations; and are included in your festival pass.

Located in the southernmost tip of the Riviera Maya, there are countless accomodation options ranging from budget friendly hostels to stunning beachfront villas. Explore nearby hotels, airbnbs and more below.

Things to do in Tulum

The stunning Mayan town of Tulum is filled with exciting attractions and activities for the whole family to enjoy. You absolutely cannot leave Tulum without visiting the Cenotes. The unique underground reservoir of water occurs naturally throughout Mexico; with over 6000 cenotes discovered in the Yucatan. Amongst the hundreds of Cenotes that can be found in Tulum, popular ones include Gran Cenote, Cenote Calavera and Cenote Naharon. The clear-water underground pools are perfect for swimming and snorkelling. 

Tulum is also known for their ancient archaeological sites, displaying ancient Mayan ruins. The ruins are located on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the Caribbean ocean and is also the perfect viewpoint to catch a sunrise.
