Oktoberfest is a festival for the end of summer and the great parties of the harvest season. Although the traditional festival in Munich is the most famous, America’s versions of the great fall party have persisted over the years and made themselves into a major part of our culture.

This fall, the Oktoberfest Zinzinnati offers a weekend full of excitement. You can participate in the Gemuetlichkeit (goodwill) Games with a beer barrel roll or a stein race, or watch the amazing running weiners (read: dogs) compete for bragging rights. The festival is chock full of specialty beer tappings, including limited release beers form sponsor Samuel Adams as well as local craft beer that you just won’t be able to find anywhere else!

The Oktoberfest Zinzinnati runs from September 19 – 22, 2024, and is held in downtown areas.

Where is Oktoberfest Zinzinnati 2024

The running of the weiners will take place at Race St. between 2nd and 3rd. This is an event that really gets the party started for the weekend, and the king of the Weiners will be crowned on September 17.

The main stage for the music is at 2nd and Elm St, where you can catch all the great bands including traditional German oompah bands.

How to get around Cincinnati

Use the atmospheric Cincinnati Bell Connector, a streetcar service that runs in a 3.6 mile circle between the major parts of downtown. It’s supremely economical at just $1 for an hourly pass.

Another great option, especially if you stay in the downtown area, is to use the Red Bike cycle sharing system for the metro area. There are more than 57 stations to get a bike and you can pay the reasonable rates with a credit card.

Public transport may need to be aware that streets will close for the festival. Therefore, bus routes will have some changes during the Oktoberfest.

Things to Do in Cincinnati

Cincinnati is a rad city, without some of the bustle of larger place on the East Coast like New York or Washington, D.C. Make sure that you stop by the Smale Riverfront Park while you’re in town. It’s a beautiful spot to take a stroll and enjoy the river that holds the city together.

Make sure that you check out the city’s many art museums. Fountain Square, the Pendleton Art Center, and the famous Mushroom House are all great options for those that enjoy art.

The city has a burgeoning craft beer and artisanal spirits scene, too. Make sure that you take advantage of any time you aren’t drinking at the Oktoberfest to visit Craft Connection and MadTree Brewing.
