If you have been following Team #BECANDDAN (Bec Henderson & Dan McConnell) over the last couple of months, you will know things haven’t been all smooth sailing. It’s a tough gig being a professional athlete when most of your events are on the other side of the world, even tougher when you are doing it as a privateer.
But being their physio has been one of the most rewarding opportunities this season and I couldn’t be more impressed with how they’ve handled themselves under some of the toughest of circumstances.
Since the last post, Bec and Dan have competed in the next 3 World Cups in Andorra, Lenzerheide and Mont Sainte Anne, both with strong performances in each. Although not necessarily the results there were after, they are still mixing it with the best in the world.
They have also both managed to take the win in other top-level events in between, namely Bec’s win at the Swiss Cup in Granichen and Dan’s win at a US Pro XCT race in Windham.
The guys have been away from home since May and following the last World Cup in Val Di Sole next weekend, they will be very eager to be boarding the plane back to AUS for their ‘home’ World Championships!
After two successful World Cups being held in Cairns (2014 & 2016), Australia has been granted the opportunity to host this years World Champs, something that may not happen here again for a very long time!
So if you haven’t already booked your trip…get onto it! Come and cheer on Bec Henderson and Dan McConnell as they work extra hard to get on the podium for their home crowd and finish their epic season on a high!
