ESPN, the leading action sports content provider and creator of the X Games is heading back to Minneapolis, Minnesota in the summer.
Minneapolis will be the host of X Games this summer at the state-of-the-art U.S. Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis. The events will take place on July 16-19, 2020. The selection follows a highly competitive bidding process in which Minneapolis ultimately edged out multiple cities bidding to host the X Games summer event for the last two years.
Bringing together such a pool of talent often sets the stage for athletes pushing the limits of their respective sports. For instance, X Games attendees have born witness to new tricks such as Tony Hawk’s 900 in skateboarding, Travis Pastrana’s double backflip in freestyle motocross, Heath Frisby’s first ever snowmobile front flip in Snowmobile Best Trick, and Torstein Horgmo’s first landed triple cork in a snowboard competition.
The U.S. Bank Stadium is located in downtown Minneapolis.
By air – fly to Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport which is 15 minutes drive from the venue. The stadium is easy to reach by public transit with a light rail station outside our front door.
There will be loads going on at X Games. Taking place in the heart of the city at the US Bank Stadium there are plenty of hotels and Airbnb’s in Minneapolis.
There are plenty of hotels around too, the Elliot Park Hotel is really close. With hotel service, breakfast etc. they may just give you that bit of extra convenience. For a bit of both worlds, the Mint House hosts apartments although it is a hotel.
