Washington State Fair 2023: Celebrate Your State! 

The Washington State Fair is one of the biggest fairs in the world and the largest in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. It is the single largest attraction held annually in the state of Washington and ranks in the top 10 largest fairs in the country. Tickets start at $14 for Adults and $11 for seniors and children. Children 5 and under can enter for free. The event is open throughout September, including Labor Day.

Also known as the biggest party in the state, you can enjoy shopping at hundreds of unique vendors throughout the fair, offering delicious fair treats as well as a range of wild rides and entertainment. The fair also features a month-long concert series, powered by Columbia Bank. 

Where to view Washington State Fair 2023

The Washington State Fair takes place at the Washington State Fair Events Centre in Puyallup, Washington. You can find the event at 110 Ninth Avenue SW Puyallup, WA 98371. 

How to get around Puyallup

The Washington State Fair Events Centre is easily accessible by both car and public transport. Parking is available on site, with passes starting at $10 Monday-Friday and $15 on weekends. The fair also offers a number of public shuttle services, making your trip to the fair quick and easy. The Fair Express bus is back this year, transiting visitors between the fair and the blue gate parking lot. Parking is available for free at Lakewood Town Center, Tacoma Mall and South Hill Mall for the Fair Express Service.

On Saturdays, the Starline Fair Express Shuttle will also operate from Kent Park & Ride. The shuttles depart from the park & ride location at the top of each hour and you can reserve a seat in advance for a discounted rate.

On Saturday’s you can ride the Sounder Train to the event. Serving nine stations between Everett and Puyallup, the sounder train offers a fun and scenic way to get to the event. You can board at Everett, Mukilteo, Edmonds, Seattle, Tukwila, Kent and Auburn & Summer and a complimentary Pierce Transit connector bus will operate from Puyallup Station to the red gate of the grounds.

You can also take a number of the city’s year-round public transport options. The Puyallup connector is the city’s bus service, with route 425 operating directly from Downtown Puyallup to the events centre. Route 578 on the ST Express Bus will also run from Seattle to Puyallup Station. 

Where to stay for Washington State Fair

The Washington State Fair offers year-round RV Parking with full power sewer and water hookups available in the orange lot, and power, water and sewer dumps available in the green lot. Reservations are required during the State Fair and start at $28 per night for dry camping, $35 per night for water and power only and $40 per night for a full hookup.

You can also find a number of hotel, apartments and guest houses located within walking distance or a short drive of the event centre. The nearest hotels include Motel Puyallup, Northwest Motor Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites Tacoma/Puyallup and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Tacoma Puyallup; all within a 15-minute walk of the venue. Other popular hotels include the Best Western Plus – Auburn Inn, Red Lion Inn & Suites and Comfort Inn.

Things to do in Puyallup

The Washington city of Puyallup features a number of things to see and do. One of the most popular attractions is Bradley Lake Park, a 59-acre park featuring a lake, fishing, running trails, a playground, picnic areas and more. Other popular outdoor areas include Pioneer Park, Kiwanis Kids Spray Park and Wildwood Park.

Puyallup is also home to the Puyallup Historical Society at Meeker Mansion, a unique mansion dating back to the 18th century with hand-painted ceilings, stained glass, antiques, public tours and more.
