Monterrey is one of Mexico’s wealthiest and most industrialized cities, but the best part about it is that it hasn’t lost its Spanish flavor. Find it among the narrow alleys, lovely patios, and 16th century houses. Immerse in the culture by visiting the many galleries and museums, or unwind at one of the picturesque public parks. The Museum of Contemporary Art at the Gran Plaza is not to be missed; this is the best place to learn about authentic Mexican art. For a taste of the outdoors, take the short drive to Garcia, where you’ll find the majestic Garcia Caves, a major cave system of Mexico. Spend the day exploring the Cumbres de Monterrey National Park, a great day away from the urbanized city.
