Seasplash Festival 2019: Exodus Edition

Seasplash Festival is one of the longest lasting festivals in Croatia. The four day event is perfect for those who desire the perfect relaxed summer vacation right by the sea. Moving to a new home down south in 2019, the Adriatic coastal town of Šibenik will be hosting the festival’s 17th edition. Featuring four stages, live music on the beach, free camping, workshops and more, there’s always something to keep you entertained at Seasplash Festival.

Seasplash has grown to become an important part of the cultural identity of Croatia. Visitors come together to dance into the early hours of the morning to the sound of some of the best musicians and performers in the world. The 2019 edition has already announced its first three headliners.

Lee “Scratch” Perry is one of the most enduring and original reggae producers of all time. Having worked with a wide variety of artists including Bob Marely and the Beastie Boys, Perry has been ranked in Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. He will be performing at Seasplash festival for the first time in 2019. Hopeton Brown, better known as ‘Scientist’ has over 50 releases and numerous collaborations under his belt. The Jamaican prodigy will also perform for the Seasplash crowd for the first time in 2019. Mad Professor has received a legendary status throughout his career, having released over 200 albums and performing on worldwide tours. After a memorable performance in 2018, the dub producer will return to bless the Seasplash crowd with his unique sounds once more. The unstoppable kings of dub and reggae are the first of many names that will perform throughout the event.

Where to view Seasplash Festival 2019

In 2019, Seasplash Festival will be opening a new chapter of the festival’s 17 year history by taking a trip down south. The new home of Seasplash Festival will be Martinska pier and beach, located directly across the sea from the city of Šibenik. ( Martinska, HR-22000 Šibenik, Hrvatska).

How to get to Šibenik

The city of Šibenik is located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, approximately an hour north-west from Split. The nearest airports are Zadar Airport, which is 80km away, and Split Airport which is 60 km away. Both airports are reachable by motorway.

There are many motorways that can get you to Šibenik quickly and easily. If you are travelling from the north, follow the motorway and take exit 20 – Pirovac and continue driving in the direction of Jadrija and Martinska. If you are arriving from the South, follow the motorway and take exit 22 – Šibenik and follow the road towards Šibenik Bridge and Martinska.

A number of public transport options are also available. There are many train options that run between Šibenik and Zagreb, Croatia’s capital. Many regular bus lines from most major cities around Croatia are also available and can be found here.

Where to stay for Seasplash Festival 2019

There are a number of accommodation options available in the city of Šibenik. Apartment rentals, Airbnbs, hostels and hotels are all available for as low as $20 per night and you can find them below.

The festival also offers onsite camping, which is free for ticket holders, however, capacity is limited. Guests will have to pay local taxes as well as a small, refundable garbage deposit. Toilets and showers will available to use on the camping grounds.

Things to do in Šibenik

There a number of things to see and do in the city of Śibenik throughout your trip to Seasplash Festival. A number of historical hilltop fortresses such as St. Michael’s Fortress and Barone Fortress, offer stunning panoramic views of the city. Crystal clear water beaches also line the entire coastline, giving visitors plenty of options to relax and unwind. Popular beaches include Prvić, Banj, Jadrija Kabine and Rezaliste. If you’re looking for a more adventurous day out, Šibenik is also home to the Dalmatia Aquapark. The aqua park is the first themed water park in Croatia and is certainly a summer favourite. Entry during the high season starts at 80 kuna which is approximately $12.

A number of small islands such as Kaprije, Žirje and Zlarin surround the coast of Šibenik. These islands make perfect day trips for your next off the grid adventure and can be accessed by regular ferry services from the ferry terminal in Śibenik.
