Sea Sessions 2024: Ireland’s best surfing music festival

Sea Sessions embodies so much of whats special along the Wild Atlantic Way. For breathtaking views of the Atlantic ocean ,the craic of the local people, surfing events and music, the Sea Sessions Surf Festival showcases the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland like no other event.

There is camping and glamping along the beach, barefoot beach sports, surfing, skateboarding and top live music acts and DJ’s from around the globe to party on the sandy beach with.

The Skate Zone sees a mixture of skate displays, BMX displays and parkour performances. There is beach volleyball, beach tag Rugby and Barefoot Soccer. Learn to surf in the Atlantic Ocean at one of 4 local surf schools, go coasteering or hire a bike and go exploring.

Rougey Walk is situated beside the festival site and is one of the best places to view Donegal Bay while enjoying the carnival rides such as the big ferris wheel on the beach.

Where is Sea Sessions Festival?

Sea Sessions is located on the beach in Bundoran Co. Donegal on the Wild Atlantic Way, which is the most southerrnly town in the county. The town is a popular seaside resort, and tourism is at the heart of the local economy. It is a world-renowned surfing area and was listed by National Geographic magazine in 2012 as one of the World’s Top 20 Surf Towns.

How to Get Around Bundoran

Car hire is recommended for exploring the whole Wild Atlantic Way region.

Regular bus services operate to/from Bundoran offering connections to Dublin, Galway and Belfast. There are also backpacking tours that operate hop off and on bus stop locations around the coast for exploring.

Luxury glamping is available at the festival, choose between a regular bell tent, luxury bell tent or “Yippee Palace” penthouse style tent. They call it “mellow camping.”

The main campsite on Tullan Strad Road is connected to the main festival. Pitch your tent for the weekend and walk straight to the festival.

The Donegal Bay Bus takes cruisers out to a seal colony at Seal Island. In proper Irish style there is a fully stocked bar and cabaret show to enjoy on the return leg of the journey.

Wild Atlantic Crusades is a 4×4 BLINDFOLDED driving experience situated on 4 acres of a bespoke track.
