Roskilde Festival in Denmark is one of Europe’s most popular music festivals. What is really cool about this festival is that it was originally started by two high school students and has since developed into a non-profit organization focusing on cultivating and supporting “music, culture and humanism.” In recent years, festival goers have had a major say in what charities will benefit from the event. ALL proceeds go to whatever charity is chosen. Over 150 bands come and share their passion of music with thousands of festival goers.
The festival is made up of several tents and feature well- known bands and singers, as well as up and comers and even local musicians. There is also a large variety of music types and performances and there is even wifi hotspots as well as charging stations. The festival also sets up supermarkets, water stations, a laundromat and even a pharmacy. They even have separate lakes for fishing and swimming. The event is cashless so make sure you remember your credit or debit card.
“Cool festival, always around the first week of July. The music is good, but all the creative shops with food, drinks etc., is what makes this place really special.”
