Rocky Run is a sensational race that invites runners to channel their inner Rocky Balboa. Rocky Fan or not, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun. The race has attracted thousands of runners who want to hit the pavement with a purpose, just like the movie, because it resonates with many who admire that Rocky stands for resilience, and overcoming the odds.
Runners can choose from the 5K, 10 mile, or the epic Italian Stallion 13.1 challenge which is a combination of both runs. If you succeed in finishing the Italian Stallion 13.1 challenge within the pacing requirements, you’ll be awarded the prestigious finisher medals on top of the 5K and 10 mile medals. So you get to walk away like a true champion with three medals! Better yet, rally your family, friends, or coworkers to run as team for a chance to win the Largest Team or Best Team Costume. The other prizes at stake are: top 3 overall male and female winners for the 5K and 10 mile; and Italian Stallion 13.1 Challenge Finishers, and the Best Rocky Inspired Costume. Even if you aren’t a competitive runner, just put one foot in front of the other in the spirit of a good time.
‘Put on your best Italian Stallion outfit as you race and have the time of your life in one of Philadelphia’s most famous sporting events.’
This event has sold out in the last few years, so be sure to register today. Entries are accepted based on a first-come, first-served basis.
The race begins at Kelly Drive, just in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The 5K race starts at 7AM and the 10 mile race starts at 7:45 AM.
The best way to get around the city during the race is by public transportation. Street closures and heavy traffic during the race don’t make it ideal for taking your own car. Make use of the SEPTA subway lines, which is the most efficient way of getting to the race. SEPTA’s Market-Frankfort Line travels both east and west, just take this line to 15th Street or the City Hall stop. The Broad Street Line can be taken to the Race-Vine. Alternatively, you can take the Amtrak which has several services transporting passengers to 30th Street Station, which is located just a mile from the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Philly’s got a ton of accommodation options catering to all budgets and preferences. Ideally, book your lodging near the Philadelphia Museum of Art so that you’re close to all the activities during race day.

The City of Brotherly Love has got so much to offer once you’re done running like the legend Rocky. It would be sacrilegious to leave Philly without trying the world-famous cheese steak, incredible sandwiches filled with thinly sliced steak plus generous portions of cheese all wrapped in a hoagie roll. Explore the amazing Italian Market, a Philly landmark that’s been around since the 19th century.
Philly doesn’t disappoint when it comes to nightlife. There are several rooftop bars with gorgeous views, and a ton of cocktail lounges and beer gardens. Prefer dive bars? There’s lots of those too! Whether you’re looking for something dressed-down or fancy, this amazing city has it all.
