Punk Rock Bowling 2024: Camaraderie. And a rockin’ good time!

Before you shake your head in confusion: yes, punk rock and bowling have nothing to do with each other. But that’s exactly why Punk Rock Bowling has been so successful in carving a niche for itself in the music festival industry.

This one-of-a-kind event combines a raging good time with punk rock in the best party location in the US: Las Vegas!

It started out back in 1999 when brothers Shawn and Mark Stern were at a bowling alley and, over a couple of Bloody Marys, decided that they wanted to throw the most amazing bowling party for their punk rock friends where bands, as well as magazines and labels, could all have a great time. It would be an excuse to go to Las Vegas, throw a party, and the rest is history.

Your experience at Punk Rock Bowling

Over 24 years later, it has now become the holy grail for punk rock fans. The multi-day festival consists of crazy concerts, movie screenings, lounge acts, wild pool parties, and exciting competitive activities like bowling of course!

Expect nothing but the best from the Stern brothers, who oversee one of the most successful punk rock labels in the United States: BYO Records. More importantly, the brothers are dedicated to values that promote thinking for yourself and individuality while standing up against racist, sexist, fascist, homophobic, semitic, and other forms of oppression plaguing the world today.

These values are what you can expect subtly ingrained in every aspect of Punk Rock Bowling. After all, punk rock is all about musical freedom.

Punk Rock Bowling Lineup 2024

In recent years, huge names like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Rise Against, NOFX, D.O.A., Iggy Pop, Bad Religion, The Exploited and more have been responsible for insane mosh pits at the festival. Not to mention world-class food and drink to power through days of punk-rockin out.

Where to watch Punk Rock Bowling

Punk Rock Bowling takes place at various event locations in Downtown Las Vegas. 

Things to do in Las Vegas

You’ll never run out of things to do in Sin City. It is an internationally-acclaimed resort city, after all; known for hedonistic indulgences like nightlife, gambling, fine dining, entertainment, and shopping.

Not your cup of tea?  Escape from the bright lights and get high on nature at one of the country’s most iconic landmarks, the Grand Canyon. It’s just a three-hour drive to the west region from Las Vegas.

Red Rock Canyon is another awesome outdoor excursion that takes you up close with the famous red landscapes of Nevada.

Go shopping at the Container Park, an open-air retail hub at Fremont Park. When it gets too hot outside, cool down at the legendary ice lounge of Mandalay Bay.

Everything inside is made out of ice, including the bar and the seats. Put warm clothes on, and go to the bar for a cool round of icy cocktails.

How to get around Vegas

The Las Vegas Strip is easy to get around on by foot, thanks to the pedestrian sidewalks (yep, that’s where some of your gambling money goes to).

If you’re going to rent a car, the best way to do so is to reserve one before you arrive. Festivals, conventions, wedding weekends, and other events can quickly book out all the rental car availabilities faster than you can say poker.

When it comes to public transportation, there are a couple of choices available depending on the areas you’re staying in. There’s a monorail, bus, taxi, and Uber of course.

Las Vegas has a free tram network that gets you to and from the big hotels, and many hotels also offer free shuttle services to popular tourist draws in town.

High rollers, there’s only one way to get around Las Vegas in style: limousines.
