Pinkpop 2024: The Biggest Music Festival In The Netherlands 

Not many music festivals can brag about having a long life span. And while more festivals are conceived each year around the world, leave it to Pinkpop to throw a massive rock party for three whole days; one that will have you screaming for more.

After all, it’s been around since 1970 and these guys have mastered the art of producing an unforgettable rock festival. It’s even been featured in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest open-air music festival in the Netherlands.

Many awesome things can be said about Pinkpop, sure. It’s one of the 10 best rock festivals in Europe. But it’s still a music festival at its core, and any music event is only as good as its lineup. Well, how about Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney? It’s no surprise then, that it’s sold out year after year for a long time now.

With a wide range of rock and other styles of music covered in this event, this is one festival that appeals to a broad range of rockers both young and old, or anyone who just wants to have a good time! Spend three days dancing in the outdoors of Landgraaf as several stages bust out epic tunes one after the other. This is a camping festival too, so if you need some time to recalibrate, it’s as simple as going to your tent to nap.

Where to view Pinkpop

Pinkpop is held at the Megaland grounds in Landgraaf.  Kids must be at least 12 years old to enter the festival without an adult. Those aged 12 and below should be accompanied by a guardian, and everyone will be required to have a ticket to enter the site.

How to get around Landgraaf

Pinkpop shuttle buses will be available to transport attendees to and from various points during the festival. Look for the Kiss & Ride services within the festival grounds. The venue is also accessible by bicycle, train, car, and bus.

Where to stay for Pinkpop

For the best Pinkpop experience, go camping. There are three organized festival campsites namely A, B, and C to choose from. Only attendees who have purchased a weekend ticket and wear a wristband will be allowed entry into the campsites.

Take note that the campsites won’t be opening in advance nor will reservations be allowed, so be sure to come early on the first day of the festival to get a good spot. The campsites are fully equipped with toilets, showers, and other facilities. Food, drinks, and a supermarket will also be available on-site. Different types of tents will be available for rent, but you can also choose to bring your own camping gear.

If you would rather stay in a hotel or an Airbnb, Landgraaf has several around the area. The accommodations that are within walking distance to the festival grounds tend to get fully booked months before the event, so make sure to plan in advance and check out the map below.

Things to do in Landgraaf

After the festival, head over to Amsterdam, just 2.5 hours away. Go museum hopping, explore the canals and take photos by the beautiful houses, drink your weight in beer, and indulge in stroopwafels.

Amsterdam may be known as one of the world’s most liberal cities, but spend a few days here because it certainly has much more to offer than meets the eye.
