Ozora Festival 2019: Psychedelic Tribal Gathering

Originating in 1999 as a solar eclipse celebration, Ozora Festival has grown to become one of the most influential psychedelic trance festivals in the world. Hosted in the heart of Dádpuszta, Hungary, the seven-day festival annually welcomes over 25,000 people to the unique gathering. Visitors from around the world gather to take part in a unique experience filled with music, art, workshops and more.

Each year, Ozora Festival welcomes a range of local and international musicians, artists, speakers, performers and more. This year’s highlights include the likes of Chancha Via Circuito, Extrawelt, Dirtywire, Hallucinogen, Noosphere and more.

A number of exclusive performances such as Beyond The Wall – A Floyd Experience and Koxbox 30^thAnniversary Set also make up the unique schedule. In addition to the musical lineup, a range of performers are also scheduled. Circus performances will be showcased by the Firebirds Juggling Group, Freak Fusion Cabaret, Shape Productions and more.

How to get around Dadpuszta

Dadpuszta is located approximately an hour and a half south from the Hungarian capital of Budapest. The nearest airport is Budapest Airport. Official festival shuttle buses are available for visitors to travel between the airport and the festival. Transfers must be reserved online in advance.

Visitors can also travel to the festival via train. Cheap and frequent rail services operate from Budapest to Simontornya station multiple times throughout the day. Upon arrival at Simontornya, official ‘Party Bus Shuttles’ are available to transport visitors from the station to the festival gates. Shuttle rides are 5 euros each way. For private transfers, taxis are readily available from the airport to transport visitors directly to the festival. The official taxi partner is Hamar Taxi and taxis and minivans can be reserved online in advance. 

Where to stay for Ozora Festival

More than 100 acres of grassy fields will be made available for visitors to camp throughout the festival. Camping is free and visitors are able to park their cars next to their tents in most areas. The campgrounds are fully equipped with toilets, over 200 shower stalls, numerous water stations, food stalls, grocery store and more. If you are attending with children, an exclusive Family Camping area is available upon registration. Caravans are also welcome on the campgrounds.

Things to do at Ozora

Ozora Festival features a range of activities and programs for visitors to participate in. In addition to an impressive range of artists performing on multiple stages, a number of non-musical performances will also be showcased. Vendors can be found in the Artisan Bazaar, a marketplace filled with unique handcrafted treasures. Circus and fire artists will perform regularly throughout the event, and visual artists will also participate in a number of art projects. Ozora Festival also offers a number of body and mind workshops as well as craft workshops and lectures. Healing ceremonies can also be found throughout the event.

The next edition of Ozora Festival will take place from July 29 to August 4, 2019.
