Ottawa Winterlude is a three week series of celebrations sure to help make those winter days and nights filled with fun and excitement. It is a series of events suitable for the entire family! Food, music, ice sculptures, street performers, and shows that will keep you warm to your core during the icy cold winter.

Or if you feel like seeing what its like to take part in the winter Olympics, check out what the folks at CBC and Canada Radio have at the Olympic Rendevous, complete with games like curling and hockey!
Now, this event spans 3 weeks so you need to see what is going to be the most fun for you and can fit your budget so plan accordingly. However most of the events are free and since the locations between the main event areas are spread out, transportation is provided FOR FREE. So you will be able to hop between each of the fun-filled locations with ease.

Winterlude takes place in the Capital of Canada which is Ottawa. The sites hosting the events are located at the Rideau Canal Skateway, at the Snowflake Kingdom at Jacques Cartier Park, and the Crystal Garden in Confederation Park.
This is the best part, the transportation for the event in between the separate location is free and is provided by OC Transpo and the Société de transport de l’Outaouais in the form of OLG-Snow Buses!
Ottawa is the capital of Canada and as such is a fairly large metropolitan area with tons of hotel options to fit most budgets. There is of course hostels, bed and breakfasts, AirBnB’s, condos, and other house-sharing options as well. The event lasts for three weeks but it is very popular so do try and book ahead for the best opportunities and deals.
