Ground Zero Festival 2019: Europe’s Hardest Night Festival

Ground Zero is Europe’s hardest night festival. Taking place in Bussloo, Netherlands, Ground Zero festival will celebrate it’s 14th annual edition, featuring the best of Hardcore, Uptempo, Frenchcore and more. The festival focuses on high BPMs and has become one of the top hardcore events in Europe.

This year’s edition will welcome more than 90 of the biggest and best acts of the harder styles, who will perform across 7 areas. The MainStage will showcase the talents of NSD, Sick & Core, Billx, MBK, MC No-ID, Cryogenic, Bulletproof, Partyraiser, Scarphase, GPF, Miss Hysteria, Le Bask and Andy The Core. The RGB stage will feature the likes of D-Master, Bazzy, Unleashed Fury, Repix, Barber and more. The Hellbound stage features 909’ kickdrums all the way; showcasing Leviathan, Ruffneck, Arjuna, Paralizer, Lenz and many more. Other stages include the Origins of Frenchcore, Noisekick’s Terrordrang, Prspct and Multigroove.

Ground Zero will take place at the Recreational Area “Bussloo” near Wilp in the Netherlands.

How to get around Apeldoorn

The festival is easily accessible by both car and public transport. If you are driving to the event, you can take the A1 to Apeldoorn/Hengelo and use exit #21 if you are coming from Amsterdam or #22 if you are coming from Germany; then, follow the Ground Zero signs. If you are coming from Zwolle or Eindhoven, you can take the A50 to Apeldoorn/Arnhem and take exit #21 to Voorst/Bussloo and follow the signs. Parking is available on site and costs 10 euros per person. 

You can also travel to the festival by public transport. Take the train to Apeldoorn Station, where a festival shuttle will transfer you between the station and the festival grounds. Shuttles to the festival will run from 7 pm until midnight and return from 5.30 am to 9 am. The first train departs Apeldoorn Station at 7.15 am. Shuttle bus tickets can be purchased online in advance for 10 euros (round trip) or 12 euros on the bus. You can also purchase a travel package with the festival’s event travel partner and get a combined festival ticket with round-trip transportation; from one of 150 departure locations across the Netherlands. There are also a number of international travel partners, offering combined tickets and travel from cities around Germany, Belgium and France.

There are a number of accommodation options available for Ground Zero, ranging from hotels to Airbnbs. Recommended hotels include Hotel Restaurant Taverne and Postillion Hotel Deventer; both located within a 10-minute drive of the festival.

There are also a number of Airbnb options located within the vicinity of the festival. If you are travelling by public transport, it is recommended to stay near Apeldoorn Station for quick and easy access to the festival shuttles. You can explore all the nearby accommodation options below. 

Things to do in Apeldoorn

The city of Apeldoorn features a number of things to see and do. One of the main attractions is Paleis He Loo, a 17th-century palace; featuring formal gardens, a notable art collection, guided tours and more. Nearby, you can also find Julianatoren Apeldoorn, a seasonal amusement park featuring more than 60 rides and attractions and centred on a 1910 tower.

Another popular attraction is Park Berg en Bos, a nature reserve featuring 250 hectares of greenery, lakes and wildlife in the heart of the city. You can also find a number of popular historical attractions, such as Het Oude Loo, a 15th-century castle; and Kasteel Cannenburch, a breathtaking historic Château.
