GrassRoots Festival 2023: Celebrate arts music and culture and help raise awareness!

The 31st Anniversary of the Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival is a mission-based (501-c3) organization that works to nurture local artists and talent while reaching around the globe to bring world music and culture to new audiences, creating environments that inspire creativity and foster community building. So not only is this a festival it serves as the means to help inspire and raise cultural awareness within the community and abroad.

During the festival over 80 bands will perform on four stages giving the public an opportunity to experience great music all day, and well into the night. With so many artists wanting to share what they have to offer there will be something for every taste. Who knows you might hear something you never have before and discover a whole new world of musical opportunities.

If 4 days of music and entertainment are not enough for you, come 4 days before the event and take care in the Culture Camp where you will be immersed in music and culture for 4 days with like-minded individuals.

There are plenty of activities for kids as well so be sure to bring the entire family. There is a kids area complete with arts and crafts for the little ones. You can also swing by The Art Barn where kids can decorate their own mask and costume for the Happiness Parade!

Located just 15 miles from Ithica, NY is the town of Trumansburg, New York.

How to get around Trumansburg

You are going to want to have your own vehicle. Trumansburg is a small town with limited options, however, the festival takes place on the fairgrounds so you won’t have a need to travel far!

Between Ithica and Trumansburg there are plenty of hotels, but to truly get the full experience of the GrassRoots Festival you need to camp.

There are a lot of camping options including some local to the festival. You are going to want to go this route to truly get the most out of the entire festival.

Things to do in Trumansburg

Well, you are going to be in the area of the Finger Lakes so there is plenty of outdoor recreational activities to include hiking, fishing, camping, bird watching, and photography.

The town of Ithica, NY is not too far with plenty of options and of course, there are a few limited options in Trumansburg.
