After only two years in the game, Fortress Festival has already been crowned as one of the best experiences in Northern Texas. Ranked as one of Rad’s best worldwide festivals in April, the two-day event returns for a jam-packed third edition on April 27 and 28. In partnership with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Fortress Festival not only features a world-class lineup of artists but also offers visitors access to world-class art within the iconic cultural district.

This year’s lineup once again features an impressive bill of artists. Saturday will be headlined by Chvrches, Rae Sremmurd and Tinashe; and Sunday will be headlined by Leon Bridges, Khruangbin and Tank and the Bangas. Fortress Festival will take place at the Will Rogers Memorial Centre in Fort Worth, Texas. (3401 West Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76107).
There are a number of ways to get in and around Fort Worth, Texas. The nearest major airport is Dallas/Fort Worth International, and is the fourth busiest airport in the country. Most domestic and international airlines operate throughout this airport, making it easy and affordable to travel to and from the festival.
The Fort Worth Transport Authority offers bus routes all over Fort Worth; which travels to popular attractions including the Stockyards National Historic District and Sundance Square. Getting around downtown is easy with ‘Molly The Trolley’, a free downtown trolley service. The Trinity Railway Express (TRE) offers convenient rail transportation between Fort Worth and Dallas, including the international airport. Bike sharing is also a popular, inexpensive and environmentally friendly way to travel around Fort Worth. Over 40 docking stations are located throughout the city, including downtown, the Near Southside and the Cultural district.
A range of public transport options will be available to transport visitors to and from the festival grounds. The TRE is strongly recommended for travelling to the festival, however, it does not operate on Sundays. Bus Route 2 travels every 15 minutes throughout the entire weekend and stops in the Cultural District. Parking is also available at the festival and parking passes can be purchased online in advance or on the day at the festival box office. Passes are $15 per car, per day and paid lots will be located at Farrington Field. Public transport, bike sharing or rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are highly recommended for this event.
Located at the Will Rogers Memorial Centre, a number of affordable and highly rated hotels can be found within walking distance of the event. One of the most popular areas for visitors to stay in is the downtown/Sundance Square area; which features a range of local bars and restaurants. Leon Bridges – Fort Worth native Leon Bridges is one of many headliners at the third edition of Fortress Festival. The American soul singer and songwriter is best known for his song ‘coming home’ which was ranked as one of the most viral tracks on Spotify. Tinashe – American singer and songwriter Tinashe has been actively changing the game in the female entertainment industry.
