FIB Festival: Benicàssim’s Best Annual Music Festival

FIB Festival or Festival Internacional de Benicàssim, is a world-renowned music festival held on the Costa del Azahar in Spain. FIB (usually just known as Benicàssim) has a distinctly beachy vibe with most festivalgoers making a full holiday out of their four days of festival fun. Spend lazy mornings by the beach before making your way to watch some awesome headliners and undiscovered talent on the four world-class stages in the afternoon and evening. Dance your heart out to big names in pop, rock and electro with a dabble of indie and alternative in there too!

Benicàssim also boasts a continuous South Beach Pool Party where DJs keep the party going every night allowing you to dance and dip in and out of the pool at the same time.

FIB has been bringing partygoers epic line-ups for over 20 years and is known for being one of the best music festivals on the international circuit. With music running from 5pm-8pm for four days, it’s not for the faint-hearted. But for those looking to get a real bang for their buck on the festival scene, Benicàssim certainly fits the bill!

‘FIB 2018 saw headliners such as The Killers, Liam Gallagher, Bastille, Chase & Status and The Pet Shop Boys so we look forward to what the 2019 festival will has in store!’

Where to view FIB Festival

FIB, as the name suggests, is held in the Spanish town of Benicàssim in the region of Valencia. One of the best things about the festival is its beachside location so you can combine four awesome days of music with a week on the beach.

There are four main stages at Benicàssim: Las Palmas, Visa Stage, VW Driving Music Beach Club and South Beach Dance Stage Radio 3. This means that every evening there will be something that you are just dying to see and you can make your way between stages to make the most of the festival. There are also plenty of chill out spaces as well as the pool party so you can truly create your own festival vibe.

How to get around Benicàssim

Benicàssim is a coastal town located between Barcelona and Valencia. The festival itself lies around 12 km from Castellón de la Plana (which has an airport) and can easily be reached by plane, train, coach, shuttle bus or car sharing. Coming by car is not recommended as there is extremely limited parking on and around the site. More information can be found on the Getting to the Festival part of the website.

Guests who are staying in the Caravan Park inside Campfest can of course arrive by campervan and set up their spot on-site, but once you have pitched up you cannot leave and re-enter.

Where to stay for FIB Festival

Campfest is the main festival campsite located right next to the arena and this is one of the best accommodation options for FIB Festival. The festival camping is open from Monday-Monday (with official festival gigs running Thursday-Sunday) so you can make a week’s beach holiday out of your general festival ticket! Please note that guests who want to camp together do need to arrive together to receive allotted camping spaces next to each other.

Villacamp is another option, with VIP camping amenities available in town. This site is around 10 minutes from the beach but has leisure facilities, showers and a bar/café on-site. The official Benicàssim bus also leaves from right outside.

Glamping options are available for upgrade on both sites.

Alternatively, you may prefer to choose some local hotel or apartment accommodation, please see the map below for some of the best hotel and Airbnb choices for FIB Festival.

Things to do in Benicàssim

As you can arrive the Monday before FIB begins, you have chance to explore the town of Benicàssim as well as soaking up some rays on the beach before becoming nocturnal for the festival. Check out the Benicàssim Tourist Information website for things to do in and around the festival.

Festival days run from 5pm-8am from Thursday-Sunday so it’s likely you’ll be too tired (or hungover!) from the night/morning before to get up and explore much once the festival has begun. Enjoy the main stages, pool parties, street food, drinks and chill-out zones and more to create the perfect festival vibe for you.
