CRSSD Festival 2019: Spring Edition

San Diego’s favourite festival CRSSD Festival is back for a 2019 spring edition. The two-day electronic music event is hosted at San Diego’s Waterfront Park and features live music, food trucks, craft beer and more. The stunning 12 acre beachfront venue hosts the biannual event in spring and fall each year.

This year’s spring edition features 50 artists spread out across three stages. The Ocean View Stage features headliners Odesza and Phantogram among other popular names. Petit Biscuit, Whethan, Ladytron and a number of live acts make up the the main stage talent. The Palms Stage features 19 acts ranging from big names such as Lane 8 and Armand Van Helden, to San Diego locals Boys Don’t Disco. Finally, the City Steps stage features many popular names such as The Martinez Brothers and Stephan Bodzin.

CRSSD Festival takes place in the Southern Californian city of San Diego. The two day event is hosted at Waterfront Park, San Diego. (1600 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92101, USA).

How to get around San Diego

Getting around San Diego is quick, easy and can also be quite entertaining. A wide range of transport options are available throughout this waterfront city. The nearest major airport is San Diego International Airport, located less than ten minutes away from the city centre. Most major domestic and international airlines operate throughout this airport.

Renting a car is the easiest way to get a round all corners of the city. Rental offices are available at the airport as well as within the city. If you are planning to stay within the city centre, a car is not necessarily required. A range of public transport options are readily available throughout the city. A number of public bus routes including MTS Bus, Rapid Express and NCTD Breeze are available for visitors. Uber and Lyft is also readily available around the clock and rides can be ordered directly from your phone. 

Aside from the traditional modes of transport, San Diego offers many fun alternatives. Dockless bikes and scooters are readily available throughout the entire city. Popular brands such as Bird Scooters and LimeBike can be found just about anywhere in the city and rentals start at only $1! Pedicabs and horse-drawn carriages are also a unique alternative way to travel around the city and explore the downtown and waterfront areas. On the water, the Coronado passenger ferry operates between the Broadway Pier and the downtown Convention Centre.

Located between the international airport and city centre, there are many accomodation options around Waterfront Park. Most visitors opt to stay either in the city centre or around the airport as the venue is easily accessible by public transport. There are several hotels located within walking distance of the venue the festival and can be explored below. 

Things to do in San Diego

The waterfront city of San Diego offers a range of things to see and do. During your visit to San Diego, be sure to visit Balboa Park, a 1200 acre multi-attraction park. Home to the San Diego Zoo, 17 museums and a range of gardens and more, it’s impossible not to love this park! 

The Gaslamp Quarter is also a popular destination for both visitors and locals. The lively downtown neighbourhood is known for it’s wide range of dining options, cocktail lounges, bars, theatres and bustling nightlife. Little Italy is also another popular pedestrian-friendly neighbourhood filled with trendy bars, pubs and restaurants.

A number of nearby beaches are also available for swimming, surfing, hiking and exploring wildlife. Popular beaches include Black’s Beach, Coronado Beach and La Jolla Cove. Mission Beach is also home to San Diego’s Sea World aquatic theme park.
