By air – The closest airport to Rotorua is Auckland International Airport on New Zealand’s North Island. It’s then a 2 hour 40 minute drive south (215 km’s).
By public transport – once you arrive in Auckland you can pick up an Intercity or Nakedbus coach service to Rotorua. The trip takes approximately 4 hours.
