Corona Capital: Major Mexico Music Festival

With the likes of Imagine Dragons, Robbie Williams, Lorde and Khalid ready to smash it on stage, Corona Capital is one of Mexico City’s greatest music festivals. Hosted in the Hermanos Rodriguez Autodrome, MXCD, Mexico, Corona Capital is a two-day festival with a wealth of multi-award-winning artists looking to excite your eardrums!

Whether you’re a lover of chart-topping hits or can’t get enough of old school classics, Corona Capital will have something to take your fancy. With a range of genres from pop and rock to indie, electro and more you’re sure to have a weekend of festival fun.

The festival is spread over four stages meaning there is something for everyone going on at all times throughout the festival. Tune in to the tracks of The Chemical Brothers, dance to Digitalism or relive the 80s with some New Order oldies.

The racetrack location that is home to Mexico’s Gran Prix is a much-loved venue for gigs and concerts and we’re sure it will make a fantastic home yet again to many of our musical heroes this year!


Where to view Corona Capital

Corona Capital is located at the Hermanos Rodriguez Autodrome in Mexico City (Canal Río Churubusco PUERTA 7, Granjas México, 08400 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico). The festival can be reached by Uber, Metro (Line 9), bus, bike or car. If driving, there is parking on site ($100 pesos per car, $200 pesos per bus). A parking map can be found here.

The festival is located around five minutes from the main Mexico City airport so festival-goers can take a taxi straight there when they land!

How to get around Corona Capital

All four stages of Corona Capital can be reached on foot once inside the festival. There are two ATMs on site and lockers are available to rent to save you carrying around any unnecessary luggage. Corona Capital offers accessible routes in and out of the festival (door 6), including a designated parking lot (gate 15) but please be aware that the grassy areas of the festival may get muddy throughout the weekend.

Comfortable footwear is recommended.


Where to stay in Mexico City

Thanks to Mexico City’s great transport links and cheap Ubers, you can stay anywhere in city and easily access the festival. The safest areas are around the Centro Historico, Condesa, Roma and the more expensive region of Polanco. Note the Metro closes at midnight so if you plan to stay at the festival until the very end an Uber may be the best and safest option.

Things to do at Corona Capital

Most of your time at the festival will be taken up watching the amazing acts rock out on one of the four stages. The festival has two days of uninterrupted music so you won’t be short of a gig or two! When not listening to the award-winning musicians you can grab some street food, have a mescal or cocktail in one of the many pop up bars of get your hands on a bottle of world-famous Corona beer from one of the many vendors doing the rounds!

If the music doesn’t get your heart going enough, festival-goers can also take part in zip-lining, trampolining or rock climbing to get their adrenalin pumping.
